Love these socks!
I can't begin to tell you how much money I have wasted on hiking socks. These were some of the first socks I bought, and I loved them. But I was hoping to find others that were less expensive. OK, so you get what you pay for. I found out the hard way that I can't wear wool. Others left my feet so wet I could wring the socks out after I took them off. Others were so constrictive at the top that I'm still trying to get rid of the rash. Yeah, so I spent way too much money anyway and ended up buying more of these because I have absolutely none of those problems with them. Best hiking socks ever!

Disintegrated on the second trip
I don't know if I got a pair from a poor-quality batch or what, but my experience was not like the other reviews. My first hiking trip (3 days) went fine' no problems except sore feet because there is not much cushioning to the socks (they are meant for warm weather after all). My second hiking trip - the first morning I stuck my finger through a hole in the cuff, and by the end of the day there were holes all over...seams by toes, sides, heels, ankles, etc... It looked like they were moth-eaten. Blisters were the result, which I had to baby the rest of the trip. I threw these socks into the bottom of the pack and only switched to wear them at night, when my good and solid SmartWool socks were airing out.

These socks ROCK

These socks ROCK. I have a great pair of hiking boots- Ahnu Sugarpines- but as comfy as they are, my feet will begin to feel sore after about 6 miles of hiking. With these socks, I can hike 12 miles through while my feet are kept dry, blister-free, and ultra comfy. Tested different pair of this brand out while hiking in Northern AZ, as well as in the Catskills up by the Gunks, and whether it is hot an humid or hot and dry, the socks kept my feet feeling great all day. Also-no stinky feet, which is incredible. Now, I am addicted to these dang things and have to pick a pair up every time I am at a gear shop!

Just What I Was Looking For

The options for hiking socks in a crew style that aren't made with wool are limited, so even though these were a bit pricier than I was looking for, I decided to try a pair. I made the mistake of wearing them before I'd washed them, and they weren't fitting quite right and were bunching up around my toes, even though I'd ordered according to their size chart. Once I washed and dried them though, the fit was perfect. They don't bunch up or have bulky seams, and they have just the right amount of cushioning. My feet didn't get too sweaty while wearing them, and I didn't get any rubbing or irritation. I also love the fun, bright colors.

So impressed

I don’t think I’ve ever written a review, but the socks are amazing! I only buy really good running socks. I’ve been trying to find some thing equally amazing for hiking with no luck. Has been tricky since I can’t do wool. I wore them yesterday in 93° heat for a few hours in my Danner 600s (which are amazing btw) and the only part of my body not sweating were my feet. Cut too today I didn’t have time to wash them (gross) and went on another 4 1/2 mile hike. Little looser but still a OK again blazing hot. ordering two more pairs right now!

Very comfortable. No Blisters!

I bought these socks to wear while breaking in my new boots. They are super comfy and breathable. I don't feel like I am going to get Jungle Foot just from a simple hike in these. In lots of hiking socks the toe seam runs along the toes and always manages to cause me a blister on my little toe. Not in these! These socks have gone about 30 miles hiking since I got them and I have zero complaints. The socks don't shift, move, slide etc. I will for sure be buying more to replace the others in my drawer! A hiking / backpacking must have for me.

Perfect “slightly thicker” socks

I ordered these Darn Tough and a pair of the Smartwool light women’s hiking socks. The Darn Tough coolmax Micro socks are just perfect with my Zamberlan Frida hiking boots. They are super soft, thick enough, without too much unnecessary, bulky padding, and cushioned in the right places. I found the smartwool pair to run large, not very soft, extra thick and cushioned. Between the two, I would definitely recommend this pair. I like the color combo. They height is perfect. Looking forward to wearing these hiking and during the colder weather.

Boys just want to have fun too

It's not fair that the women get these cool color options. Fortunately, a size L fits my 10.5 male feet perfect! Typical darn tough quality, just in a much cooler color choice. I really wish as a society, we would move past gendering colors. Until then this dude is wearing chick socks :)

Like the sock but should've gone up one size

I've heard a ton of great stuff about these socks, but I'm on the boarder line between a medium and a large. Wish I'd done the large, especially to accommodate the length of my foot and swelling at the end of a long day of hiking. Otherwise very good so far.

My favorite hiking socks

I bought these socks after a lifelong struggle with wool. I've worn these socks hiking in the Rockies in December, hiking in Moab in June, and hiking/camping all across the Eastern US in temperatures 40-75°F. They fit true to size; I ordered a medium and usually wear a women's size 8. I did find that my feet sweat a bit in these regardless of temperature but it's never been an issue. They definitely aren't as odor-resistant as other fabrics so wearing them for multiple days of hiking could be a problem. Overall I LOVE these socks and they are my go to for hiking.
