Amazing Paddle. Durable and Light
I used this paddle on a 700 kilometer wilderness expedition across Newfoundland, Canada last summer paired with my raft. It didn't disappoint. It cuts through the water with ease, takes a beating and is extremely pack-able when broken down into its four sections. You don't even know you have it with you. I put this through everything for three months and it is still as good as new. I have a larger one on the way now to use with my canoe on a new adventure this summer. Highly recommended.
Big fan of smaller grip and carbon
One really nice benefit is that it seems to not be as cold as other paddles that are made of aluminum. Similar to how ice tools are made of carbon feel warmer. The carbon has proven durable and resilient. Definitely buy again
Awesome Paddle!
Lightweight, strong, and because of the adjustment/locking mechanism, it's easy to take apart and put together. I have had some less expensive paddles with metal shafts that got stuck together, not with this design. Well worth the money.
Love my new paddle!
I love my new paddle! It’s light, grip worthy, easy to use, and easily comes apart and goes back together.
Makes paddling easier
Very good paddle! What I notice the most is the reduction of inertia. It is easier to initiate movement with the carbon-fiber shaft than even an aluminum shaft. This results in less fatigue on long excursions, and no sore muscles later. Highly recommended.
Great paddle for traveling
I have used these paddles for packrafting the last 10 years. I also use them with my foldable oru kayak. Since the versions I have are 4 piece they are easy to travel with. They still work and look nice after years of use.
Aqua-Bound Manta Ray posi-loc kayak paddle.
The paddle has been offshore four times since Christmas and i am more than happy with it. Does not appear to have any flex or flutter and it's weight or lack of it is a bonus. I'm using on a fiberglass fishing kayak doing entries and returns through the surf. The only think that niggles me is the oval shape on the left of the shaft to locate your hand is not pronounced enough to get an perfect placement every time in surf conditions.
Best Paddle In Its Class...
In this price point, this is the paddle to own. I'm an avid kayak angler and my Manta Ray carbon has taken a beating on lakes, rivers, farm ponds, saltwater and anything else I could throw at it. Definitely can feel the difference in handling my kayak with this paddle over a cheaper model, yet this one compares to paddles that cost much more. Can't go wrong with the Manta Ray carbon!
Top Paddle at a Reasonable Price
For a number of years when doing my kayak fishing seminars I always talk about buying the most expensive lightest paddle you can afford. The Aqua-Bound Manta Ray Carbon is an outstanding paddle with the oversized blade SOT kayaks need, plus, it's just under 30 ounces, which makes it nice and light. Best of all it retails for nicely under $200. I think this is the best kayak fishing paddle on the market for the price!
Great paddle - inexpensive for carbon fiber
Great paddle. Super light and has great "bite" on the water. I didn't expect to notice such a difference between this and a normal recreational paddle. The difference is significant. After using this for a few hours I switched the old aluminum recreational paddle I'd previously used. By comparison my old paddle felt heavy and didn't seem to have much bite.... it almost felt like I was paddling with a broom. This is a great paddle at a great price.
