Rated 5 out of 5 by from A keeper Super light super roomy. I pitch this with a hiking pole in the middle and stake the outside corners. getting in and out is easy just lift up one of the sides. the net has a drawstring around the bottom so you can tighten it although this leaves makes the net sit a little high of the ground. To keep it close to the ground I just put random items (rocks, shoes, my bag) to weight it down . I will be modifying it so i can tie in my ground cover to the corners. IT COULD SLEEP TWO but your gear has to stay outside.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very light, but not very much headroom I like to pitch my shelter using my hiking poles, a nylon tarp, and a mosquito net. This did the job of keeping the bugs off my face. However, the peak is not very high. I think the woman in the picture is about 4'2". I am 6'3". It was difficult to sit up and read under the net. If you're just going to sleep, it works well. If you want to "hang out" in a bug infested jungle, get something bigger. I may have gotten the double and just used it for myself.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight protection from bugs I used this product on a backpacking trip in a moderately bug inhabited area in northern California, mainly consisting of flies and large black ants. The netting kept the flies and most of the ants away from my mattress. The ants that did get through the netting were immobilized, presumably due to contact with the insecticide that is impregnated in the netting material. The material is thin, but held up fine on my trip. I've only used it once so can't speak for the long-term durability of the product. Setup is relatively easy. The top of the netting has an adjustable cord with clip that can attach to a low hanging branch or a (user-supplied) cord strung between two objects. The corners can be tucked around the mattress, or preferably staked out in order to provide a little more room. My only complaint is that the picture provided is misleading. This netting provides enough space for sleeping but there is little room to spread out, contrary to what the picture suggests. In the field the netting is going to hang a lot lower unless one spends some time aligning the hanging location for the top cord. Overall I'm happy with the product. At 3 ounces, it provided a nice insurance policy for a trip where the weather was clear and I wanted to avoid the weight of carrying a tent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kept the bugs away The net worked as advertised. It is very compact and was easy to set up. Most importantly the insects and spiders were not a problem. One of my annual camping trips is at a location where the creepy crawlers are everywhere and last year I did not sleep well because of them. This year I tried camping with the net and I am very happy I did. This is a great solution for when you are camping without a tent in an area with a lot of insects.

Does this product have a floor?  Or is it made to tuck under your mat?  How does one get in and out? zipper?

Asked by: Akrug
It does not have a floor.  You have to tuck it in, and I believe it may have some kind of loops to stake out the corners.  You would just lift up one side to get out.  *I do not own this item but am planning to buy it soon and have seen some reviews.

Is this the correct insect shelter that matches the Sea to Summit Escapist Tarp Shelter? I would like to be able to use the double version of the Nano to put under the Large Shelter.

Asked by: drick
The Sea to Summit Escapist Tarp Shelter is designed to be used with the Escapist Inner Bug Tent. Unfortunately, we are sold out of the bug net as of August 2016.

How does the "single" version of this "Nano" Sea-to-Summit shelter differ from this item: https://www.rei.com/product/798576/sea-to-summit-mosquito-pyramid-insect-shield-net-single ? This Nano version weighs six ounces less, but what else is different?

The Nano Mosquito Pyramid Insect Shield Net Shelter is similar to the normal Mosquito Pyramid Insect Shield Net Shelter but more lightweight and compact.

Would this work over a bed? or would it be too low

Asked by: Little Toe
You can use this over a bed and tuck the corners into the mattress, but the mattress height does significantly cut into the livable space within the bug net. The Mombasa Outback Travel Net may be a better choice: https://www.rei.com/c/bug-shelters
