Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful! It is very important to have a clean chain. It's not just about the chain itself wearing out. A dirty chain grinds down expensive chain-rings and rear cassettes. So, keeping your chain clean SAVES money. (yes, there are efficiency gains, but I'm ignoring here.) It's possible to take your chain off and thoroughly clean it. But it take time. This tool make the process faster... and cleaner. I fill the reservoir of this tool with Simple Green or related "green" cleaner. I run my chain through it every 2-5 rides depending on conditions. Let chain dry, relube (I like Pedro's Chain Lube), and wipe off excess. Takes 15 minutes including clean up. Oh, note the tool does actually clean all sides (left, right, top, bottom) of chain. Simple...smart. A clean chain is a happy chain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easiest chain cleaner This is a great chain cleaning tool. Yes, Park tools makes a degreaser, but it gets expensive. I usually use something like "purple power" or "simply green" and they work wonderfully. I like the redesigned clips, they work much better than the older style. I like this park product because of the ease of use. One hand holding the chain cleaner, the other turning the pedals. (Use it with the bike on a stand or a bike rack for easiest results)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect tool for the task required There is no better method, from what I've found, to cleaning your chain. Also, go to home depot and get a gallon of citrus cleaner for $10; much more economical than what is sold next to this tool or in the kit they offer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pedro's is better After less than 6 months of weekly use the cotter pins jumped ship and the magnet pin severed making it pointless to properly close and retain metal fragments.. I have used this type of cleaner in various forms for almost 2 decades and the longest each has lasted is less than a year. Currently I have switched to Pedro's Chain Pig and so far have not had any issues so far....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong Plastic, great clean I have had such great results with the Cyclone. I had a previous version by Park Tool, and it was on the flimsy side. This one however is made of much stronger plastic, has two good clips on each side, and even has a magnet on the bottom to catch small metal particles. I would highly recommend this product. It cleans like a charm!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Useful, but can be messy to use I bought one of these several years ago when I first go into serious biking and had a hard time keeping my chain clean. This works pretty well, but I found it to be a little odd to use and always kept spilling cleaner when trying to get it into position. I eventually just got powerlinks on my chain so I could remove the whole chain easily and put it in a small plastic container filled with citrus degreaser from Home Depot. My chain gets much cleaner from having it just soak and a light shake in the degreaser versus this chain scrubber. I still recommend it because it is useful, but I found just removing the chain completely is just as easy and more effective. From what I've seen, almost all bike shops remove the chain from the bike to properly clean it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good! So far used it to clean up 3 bike chains. It does the trick and makes the job pretty quick and easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Faster, cleaner, better! I wanted to make cleaning my chain easier so I'd do it more often. This thing works like a champ! It's faster, easier, less messy, and gets my chain cleaner than the old toothbrush and degreaser method. I could even feel the friction of all those brushes scrubbing the chain as I turned the crank. Had to do my filthy chain 4x, so I second the idea of an economy size citrus degreaser.
