Try something else
I like all the other Park Tools I have and their chain scrubber works well, I think. This brush, however, just isn't worth the trouble. The bristles aren't embedded in the handle like a normal toothbrush. Instead, they're clamped together by a metal band which is then snapped into a receptacle at the end of the handle. Problem is ... as soon as I start scrubbing with it - even without a lot of pressure - the bristle assembly falls out of the handle. I resort to just holding onto the bristle assembly and scrubbing that way, a sure-fire way to get grime all over your hands. I'll ditch it and get something that's built like a real toothbrush.
Essential gear
[...] This brush is essential gear. If you have a mountain bike you should buy this brush next after a helmet, pump, tire levers and extra tube. I have a few of these brushes and routinely recommend them to folks. This brush, a good degreaser, and a few rags are all you need. I have a chain scrubber, but never use it because handling all the fluid is a pain and it's not as effective. Yes, the bristle assembly on this brush can come out when you get carried away, but it's no problem to fix.
Inexpensive & Effective
There isn’t a lot to say about a brush for cleaning your cassette - it’s relatively inexpensive and the bristles are long enough to reach in between even the tallest cogs. I will note that this brush is included in the Park Tool chain-cleaning kit. The chain cleaner works extremely well. You may want to just order the kit instead of the individual tools.
Works, But Ouch!
works well, but the brush becomes the handle when you are cleaning between the gears of your cassette and the toothy end becomes the handle when you are using the brush. I wish Park Tool would offer this as two separate tools (like they used to).
Can't bike without one.
I have three of these and I'm se them regularly. The bristles become a bit raggedy over time but really, the brush never dies.
Main stay on the work bench
That lil toothy guy wiggles in there and flosses all them lil twigs out. Works mighty good.
Fine, just fine.
This works fine. It definitely won’t knock your socks off or replace degreaser.
Good brush, not so good sprocket cleaner
Brush side is great for cleaning but the sprocket side must be odd sized or something. I have tried the sprocket cleaner on 3 different style bikes (road, full suspension mountain, hybrid). Maybe I got a mis molded one but it doesn’t match up even close to the teeth on any of the bikes I have.
A must have tool
Park tool does not disappoint always reliable and long lasting
Clean your chain and cassette
This brush is awesome, as is every Park Tool I have ever purchased. Clean your chain and cassette and chainrings when necessary and your shifting and drivetrain noise will be much improved. The bristles are very stiff, so the job gets done very effectively, and the price is fair. Buy it. Use it. Often. And regularly.
