Great Tool for the Price

When I first saw this tool I thought that this was too good to be true. I couldn't believe that Leatherman had a tool of this size for this price. All the tools are exactly what I need on a daily basis, which makes it a perfect EDC for me. I love that the pliers are spring loaded. Also the knife and the scissors on the outside are perfect, because they are the tools that I use the most. It's great that I don' My only complaint (and it's a minor one) is the screwdrivers are a tad too big for normal household screws. I find myself using the tip of the file rather than the actual screwdrivers. Other than that great tool and quality, I'm sure I'll have this for years to come.

Defective scissors

Very disappointed with this product. The scissors are defective as: 1. the spring loaded mechanism that returns the scissors to the open position does not work; and 2. the mechanism that locks the scissors in place does not work. In my opinion this may indicate poor quality control, poor design or both. On this basis I would not recommend this product and will be replacing it with a better made brand of multitool.

Good for all sorts of odd jobs.

I saw that someone reviewed this product and said the scissors were defective. If that is so they should send it back to the manufacturer. Leatherman is famous for replacing things or repairing them with no questions asked. My only complaint about this model is that sometimes one device will stop the piers from folding up properly so you have to fuss just a little sometimes to it all closed up. For me it it too heavy for Backpacking, so i also have the micra which is the very light weight model. This is a great tool for car camping and day hikes where weight isn't as important. Also great to have around the house.

Never leave home without it

I have owned multiple multi-tools over the years and finally decided to pick up a Leatherman with my dividend and a coupon. This thing puts them all to shame. Even though I bought it at a discount, I would have gladly paid the full retail price. It is extremely sharp, very well made, and I use it multiple times every single day.

Honestly, for the money one of the best tools.

True, story, I just ordered my 3rd. I am a avid outdoors man, craftsman, I do many things and I will even fix my skis with this thing. Too bad, my brain is not as sharp as this these multi-tools, I lost the first two.

Solid So far

Use it for quick fixes at work and keep it on me at all times now. Main blade gets the most used and super sharp out of the package. Sometimes a tad difficult to get the blade out without touching the super sharp edge. So far this unit has been great, can't wait for the opportunity to do more with it.

Great Leatherman Quality

I purchased this leatherman in addition to my leatherman wave. I had purchased this one due to the lesser price for a fishing multi tool. For the lesser price I thought it would be less quality but I was surprised. This multi tool is great quality. The spring loaded pliers are great for fishing and I’d prefer the spring loaded over the non spring ones on the wave for fishing. The 25 year warranty that comes with this is enough reason to buy a leatherman alone. Also in regards to the reviews complaining about the scissors spring not working, I found that only happens if they aren’t fully open. If you fully open and lock the scissors tool the spring pops out and they work fine. The size of this leatherman is perfect it’s much lighter then my wave. The included pocket clip is also a plus.

Great basic multitool.

I have had this model for a number of years, and it has performed well. No, it doesn't have all the accessories that a $120 model has, but it's a good multitool. I bought it mainly to get the pliers AND scissors. I've heard a few complaints about the spring on the scissors not working well. You have to make sure you fully lock it open before using. This will engage the spring.

Flatheads are either too big or too small.

It's been my EDC for a few months, ever since someone broke my Gerber Suspension that I carried for five years (don't share your tools, kids). The most used tools are the two flatheads. The large one is far too thick to fit into any flathead I've seen, and isn't even tapered. The skinny flathead on the nail file is far too thin and brittle. I was turning a screw on an outlet cover and the tip of the screwdriver broke off. The knife is nice and large, as are the scissors. My favorite tool on it has to be the package opener. At first I tried using it to cut packaging tape on boxes, but the knife is a far better tool for that job. It's not good for letter opening either, just use the knife. The package opener is the perfect tool to open those annoying as ever plastic blister packaging that everything you love is sold to you in.

Great updates!

I'm glad to see the new addition to the Leatherman lineup. One flaw (I think) with a lot of their tools is the fact that you need to open the pliers before being able to get to the blade. Because the blade and scissors open from the opposite side, that isn't an issue with this knife. I'm amazed at how sharp the blade is. It has a nice weight (feels solid) without being bulky. This is a great compromise when it comes to variety of tools, size and price. Well done, Leatherman!

Fantastic all-around knife

This knife is definitely my favorite multitool so far. I've owned multiple Leatherman tools: a Juice S2, a Micra, a Style CS, and this. While the Juice remains near and dear to me this knife is definitely my favorite so far. I've owned it for 6 months and used it regularly and never needed to sharpen the blade; the edge is still virtually factory-new. The partial serration at the back is very handy for cutting, and the locking blade was an unexpected plus. Some of the tools are a little extra - I've never used the box opener or the scissors because I have the blade, and the file has yet to be used. However, the primary tools - screwdrivers, knife, pliers - come into use on a regular basis and are easy to fold in and out without being loose. it has a clip on the back which is pretty nice, it stays in your pocket and doesn't fall out. So far the knife has been fantastic and I carry it everywhere. It has yet to see rough use and bad conditions, but if you need an EDC this will be stronger and easier to use than a smaller knife like the Style series, while also not being exorbitantly expensive. If you're undecided about this, buy it! Unless you need a specialized knife this will be a good knife for you.
