Practical for the injury-prone and on the trail

Someone I like very much is a magnet for falling hammers and sawzalls at work. Most recently, a mini sledge fell onto their skull and there was keystone cop action while their co-workers looked for something to stop the flood of blood. He didn’t notice it much but I thought a first aid kit was in order. Then I found this. What will a Bandaid actually do in an emergency when we are hiking? This kit could, in fact, save someone’s life. It’s going in the van for everyday mishaps he’s somehow prone to, and in the backpack for the mountains ,where nothing (thankfully) seems to ever happen. Great kit!

Glad to have

I'm pleased with the price and listed contents. I'm going to trust that they do the job as described. It would be nice to have links to a video or two on how to use the package in varioius sitautions--I'm not really going to "tear open" my one kit just to play with it, and I'm certainly not going to intentionally cause a physical trauma just to test it! So I'm left to trusting that it's good and does the job. I have no reason to think otherwise... Still, a link or two for a training video would be helpful.

Good Basic Trauma Kit

Sure, one could make a better/cheaper version of this kit with separately purchased supplies, but I'm glad REI sells this in its sealed waterproof bag. Being prepared to stop a major bleed is an important first aid skill. You might want to look into a quality tourniquet if you want to round this kit out, but I haven't done that yet and I'm glad I at least carry something.

Amazing Adventure Medical Kits Trauma Pak!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a nurse and always try to be prepared. I have seen many situations where QuikClot is needed. I was excited to have this amazing medical kit with the QuikClot as part of my medical equipment at home and in my car. I like to be prepared for both out and about emergencies and those at home. Hoping I would never have to use the kit, I had a situation I was faced with recently. My son, threw a rock at a wall that bounced off the wall and hit him in the head causing a huge gash. I was able to grab my kit and stop the bleeding in a few minutes with the QuikClot. This is a amazing trauma pak and recommend to anyone and everyone.

Trauma pak with quikclot

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The trauma pak with quik clot is an awesome item to have in your first aid kit. Husband is diabetic and is on meds that make him bleed alot(blood thinners) The pack came in handy when it went out in the woods and had this in his first aid kit, when while hunting,he cut his arm abd the blood was flowing. I just put the quik clot gauze on him and it actually stopped the bleeding. I will be stocking this from now on. It is a must have in any first aid kit!!

Just in case

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great kit to keep on hand just in case. I hike, camp, fish and work outdoors often so this kit stays in my first aid box that I carry on me during outdoor activity. The quick clot worked good and fast when I sliced my index finger while using cut bait on my latest fishing trip. It kept my finger from bleeding while I headed back to the truck & camp site to properly bandage it. The kit is compact and includes essentials.

High quality triage

Light and packable. High quality triage for backpacking and hiking. I would add moleskin but this would stop lots of bleeding in a dangerous pinch.

Came In Very Handy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was raking leaves at the bottom of the hill in my backyard. I reached down to pick up the leaves with my hand and bag them. I sliced my finger on a big piece of glass and it immediately started gushing blood. I ran into the house, got this kit and was able to stop the bleeding. This kit contains everything a person may need in an emergency situation.

Great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I opened the bag, easy to open and seal close. Will be easy to transport. Since the need to use the products inside has not come up, I can say that all the products it says are in the package are there. Each item is sealed properly. It looks like everything will be easy to use if we have an emergency.
