Use them for everything
I use these things all the time. I use them as belts when I'm traveling or bike touring. They're my #1 straps for strapping a pad or tools to my pack or tent to my bike rack. I've used them to cary fire wood, quick-fix a busted backpack strap, hang gear when camping, and to connect fly guy-lines to trees. The buckle system is so simple, strong, and easy to use. Excessive force can bend the buckle slightly, but it can be easily bent back with pliers. These straps have performed well with loads greatly exceeding their design. Highly recommended.

Great when new, but don't store well
Kept in storage (admittedly for more then 3+ years) for some time and went to use them today and they completely disintegrated. Very disappointed. I have other nylon straps that have been used for 6+ years and still as good as new. When I did use them when I first purchased them they were great hence not only 1 star.

Works as advertised

The first set was an impulse buy thinking they'd be easier to deal with than bungie in keeping some extra poles and the "garage" for my Hobitat lashed to the Hobitat bag. The hook type closure works well and I don't think it would break as easy as a plastic side release buckle. Since then I've added another set to my pack as additional compression and to lash stuff I don't want in it to the outside. There's really not a lot else to say other than they work well for their intended purpose.

awesome lil straps

These things are simply awesome. so much more convenient than a typical cam strap and way strong. i use them for everything! lashing things to my pack, lumber on the truck for work gear on the roof rack for trips and keeping the lid down on the old igloo. have a few sets, some for nearly 2yrs.. nearly daily use and haven't broken one yet.

Not up to task

Package says can be used to secure loads to roof racks, this would not be a good idea. I test lashed a bag to my motorcycle panniers and gave the strap a tug, the strap pulled past the buckle far to easily for me to feel confident using them to secure a load. About all they are good for is lashing a bed roll to a backpack and even that might not go as planned.

No very rugged

While these did hold the gear on my bike's trunk rack, you can't cinch them down very tight. The metal clip on my first on snapped off the first time I was cinching it down. After that I was a lot more careful not to put that much force into it. They did hold but I would have been happier if I could have tightened them down a bit more.

Excellent straps

These are quite good. The hook buckle is easy to engage, and unlike plastic buckles, is unlikely to break. Adjusting the straps is equally simple, and it's possible to put a lot of force into them to really cinch them down. They release easily when you want them to, even when wet, but hold tight otherwise. I've started using them to replace strap systems on other things. Don't let Mark's "weighty" opinion keep you from these straps. The guy hasn't even touched them! I agree that the weight should be provided by the manufacturer, so I'll give Mark's review two stars.

Well-designed and strong

Exactly what I was looking for to strap gear down. Hooked portion is thoughtfully shaped to prevent the loop from unhooking even if not completely tight. Liked so much I bought a second set.

Not easy to use, design seemed off

I pitched these to strap to my 45L bag to carry my sleeping pad. The design makes it very difficult to pull and tighten, and you might as well forget about loosening them to remove your item, it won’t budge. Perhaps these are better suited for another job. I returned them and got a pair of plastic clip straps and those did the job 100% better.

Perfect for my needs

I bought these straps to keep a Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2 tent firmly attached to my bike handlebars on a 5 day bikepacking trip. They worked perfectly and I had no worries even while enjoying some high speed descents on gravel roads in the Siskyou Mountains of Orgegon.
