Very Good Derailluer

My first X7 never ever missed a shift no matter how hard I banged the bike up and down hills, but finally got mangled when my derailleur hanger broke, not the fault of the X7 though. My second X7 is just as good and reliable. I've had both X7 and X9 and found the X7 to be the better of the two, the X9 sometimes missed shifts, the X7 never and it's tough as heck. It is truly a great deal and a quality component. Sure, it's heaver than the pricier ones but we're talking just ounces.

Nice reasonably price unit

Replaced X5 9 spd after accident. Have only had out once so far and the derailleur seems to shift smoother with less noise that the X5. I would recommend buying to replace existing equipment because it is not significantly more money and seems to perform slightly better than the X5. If you are looking for a reasonably priced upgrade this is a decent mid-range quality derailleur. My Rocky Mountain Element is a nearly 30 lb. full suspension. bike so weight savings was not a concern. Happy with the performance so far.
