Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Outdoor Purchase This has to be one of the best purchases I have ever made! I read up on every hammock made and darted up to my local REI to pick one up. I set it up the first time in about 2 minutes and fell in love. The material is comfortable and breathable, durable, and dries quickly. I have used the hammock at least dozen times now and have NO regrets. I would recommend purchasing the ATLAS suspension system rather than the slap straps. Not only are there more hanging points, the material on the ATLAS is polyblend rather than stretchy nylon webbing. I used the slap straps for a week and returned them no problem and picked up some ATLAS straps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm always looking for a place to put it up. I bought this thing back in April and have used it at least 30 times since I received it in the mail. It's perfect for couples since you have to do quite a bit of cuddling to get comfortable in it. Not only can you hang it up between two trees, but you can also hang it from a single branch or pole that stretches out horizontally. (See my picture to get an idea of what I'm talking about.) The only issue I found is that it doesn't provide any insulation, so bundle up if it's cold out! Also, the weight on it causes it to stretch very tightly and sometimes leaves a sort of dividing section between the two people in it. But if you're in it by yourself, it's absolutely perfect!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect... I love this hammock. Absolutely love this hammock. It is so easy to set up and you can set it up pretty much anywhere. I have a herniated disc problem and when I sit in this hammock I feel zero pain and am nothing but comfortable. The con: My wife and I purchased two of these hammocks from REI and took them on a 2 week backpacking trip. We were so careful with them that we didn't even let them touch the ground! Upon our first use we discovered a hole in my wife's hammock (same one) and the beginning of a hole in mine. We were disappointed, but we know we can exchange them out. We are hoping it was just a fluke! Get this. Very enjoyable!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality Hammock I've bee using this on backpacking trips for several months now. It's so much lighter / less bulky than packing around a tent. The double has enough material to 'taco' so it keeps the majority of the bugs out when you're sleeping. I've found I sleep better in this than on a mattress pad, plus you don't need to find a flat spot to set it up and hit the sack. One thing I really like is it doubles as a chair. The only negative is it needs to be re-tightened partway through the night. The first night I used it I didn't re-tighten it and woke up with a sore neck because it had stretched during the night.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Relax, it's easy. I use this for summer camping and backpacking, and for everyday relaxing around my backyard and parks. I think the DoubleNest is pretty big for a person my size (5'6" 110lb) but it's nice to cocoon yourself in when you are so small. I really enjoy it, I dont think I'll go back to hauling around a tent when I'm packing alone again. I like not having to haul around a lot to set it up, I bought Slap Straps for it, but only because I didn't want to haul more rope. You can easily put it up without them using whoopie slings or rope. I have a standard camp bug net instead of the ENO bug net and I strap that up just fine with it. I do recommend a bug net and an underquilt of some sort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and Easy I bought the doublenest based upon reviews that the single might be a bit small. Although I do wish I had bought the single nest, the double is definately workable for one person on the average summer day and is wonderful for one person on cooler/windier days as there is plenty of fabric to pull the sides up and shelter you from the worst of the wind. After a week or two I broke down and bought the slap straps to go with the hammock and now I'm set up and reading within 5 min. It's a beautiful thing. Just for sizing purposes I'm 5'7, 145 pounds. If you are my size or smaller and not planning on sharing the space, I'd go with the single nest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No better way to end the day I use this product after bike rides or on any beautiful afternoon. I recently pulled it out after a hike to the top of a mountain and there was no better way to enjoy the vista. While bicycling across the country last year, I would pull this out every chance I got. I even slept in it ten of the 65 nights. It is spacious for two, but I probably wouldn't sleep all night with someone else in it. The fabric dries quickly and folds up small. I recommend the ProStraps and the Bug Net to anyone planning on sleeping in it. Also check the dew point each night. Definitely a must-have for any outdoors family or enthusiast!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but not great I bought the ENO doublenest hammock several months ago. The hammock's relatively light weight and quality construction impressed me, but I am not sure how realistic it is as a backpacking accessory. I brought it on a trip in the Wallowas this summer, and found it to be mostly dead weight. I did not plan to sleep in it, but intended it as a luxury for camp. That is fine if you plan on spending a lot of time in camp, but if you don't, remember the hammock and straps make up nearly two pounds you could take out of your pack. Having said that, the hammock is comfortable to read in, and I have gotten plenty of non-backpacking use from it.

What else do I need to buy to be able to set the hammock up between two trees?

Asked by: moonshinemily
You can go a few different routes here. A simple rope (or 550 cord), ratchet tie downs (makes adjusting easier), some climbing webbing, or ENO sells some over priced straps... whatever you do... get some REAL carabiners... ENO changed there standard metal biners for some cheap plastic junk.  The 2nd time we use our new ENO the biner stretched and broke... REI sells some real ones for $6 or so.

Does it come with the carabiners?

I'm debating on whether to get the singlenest or doublenest and was wondering if the doublenest would be too big for me. I am a girl, 5'5" and 130ish pounds. I want enough room, but not so much that I'm drowning in material.

Get the double. It's not so much that it's annoying at all, worth it for all the space you get. Can lay/sit along the width very comfortably

Is there anyway to bring up the weight it can hold? Im a pretty big guy (255) and would rather not have it break if i let someone sit with me

Asked by: Drew the Camper
I have had this hammock over 3 years and use it daily (as my bed!). Between me and my son, we have about 450-500lbs on it and all is well. He will climb in and sit with me for a few and we never feel it is strained or weak. Very comfortable, reliable support.  Hope this helps!

I am looking into purchasing this hammock. Does it come with the straps? If it does, hammock aside, what is the weight limit of the straps? Does it include a rain cover?

Asked by: kalep
The ENO Doublenest only comes with the marine grade line and metal snap links. Straps are not included. You can however buy ENO SlapStraps (REI item number 754777) separately. Each strap has a weight capacity of 200 pounds, for a combined capacity of 400 pounds.

Similar to kc12's question posed a month ago, will the DoubleNest be too much of a cocoon for one person? Will it close up too much and obliterate the view? Would love to know before your sale ends 9/1/14!

Asked by: TriciaS
It does close up a bit and gets cocoon-like, but the material is easily manipulated to get the desired effect.  I frequently sit sideways in it and move more of the material to my back and use it like a chair comfortably.  When I sleep in it I like the extra fabric as you can put something in the pouch to weigh it down and toss it over and it keeps you warm and protected from insects.

Two girlfriends just used their hammocks to sleep in overnight and were very cold because of the draft underneath. What did you do to keep extra warm if you had that same problem initially???

Asked by: Natisha04
An underquilt is a great accessory to keep the draft out on the underside of your hammock: https://www.rei.com/search.html?q=eno+underquilt

How long will take if the eno double hammock is back ordered?

Asked by: ChristyClark
I ordered mine two weeks ago and just got an email saying that my order has been delayed but that my eno will remain on order for 30 days and after that the order will be canceled.
