Great way to protect GT maps!
The ZipLoc seal seems very sturdy (Read: would resist water well) and I can appreciate how the envelope material resists kink. It does well with rolling. You can put two maps in facing back-to-back and will never have to remove or soil them during your trip!
When gore-tex wets out... you need this case.
If you're a fan of CalTopo, Andrew Skurka or printing your own maps, you know the hassle of trying to keep 11x17 maps dry. I canoe, hunt, hike and fish in Washington State, and the rain is constant. At $2 per page, maps aren't cheap! There's no other affordable solution around. Still available at Tacoma REI, and set for a trip down the Cowlitz to Columbia river tomorrow.
Arrived filthy
Ordered 3 of these for my Green Trails maps. I like to hike the Northern Cascades in summer. The sacks arrived covered in white spots and dust both on the interior and exterior. I returned all of them.
