A refresh of a classic
My first Raptor lasted 8 years, very satisfied as it had seen heavy, consistent use. Zippers failed as the metal corroded, not because of any design flaws. A refresh was welcomed. Tools are separate from med kit, snacks in a separate compartment, snacks, phone, and wallet each in separate partitions. The hydration bladder is much improved over the first generation of this pack. This version is considerably lighter than the first generation, yet it feels as well made. Nylon has replaced the metal zippers. Looking forward to another 8 years of trouble-free use.
Great pack but redesign horrible
Quality as usual awesome. They redesigned it though so able to fit larger people which is nice for them but at 5’7” 160 lbs the pack is not one size fits all!! The straps are humongous! I cinched the waist strap all the way 100% and still loose sagging down over my pelvis. Pulled the shoulder straps 90% to get it to fit and buckles rubbing against my ribs since pulled so far to the side!! Pulled the chest straps so far to get a fit the shoulder straps now are mid chest. Huge left over straps hanging down to my knees because I had to pull them all so far to fit!! If you are 6 ft and have a 34” waist or larger maybe this thing fits but so mad! Now I have to pay to ship it back.
