Too Small
The thru Hiker 3 is better suited for 2 people. The Thru-Hiker 1 provides approximately 33" width for 1 person, Thru-Hiker 2 provides approximately 26" width per person where as the Thru-Hiker 3 only provides approximately 21" width per person, adding only 14" to the width for an additional person. In my experience, 26-28" is the minimum width for me to be comfortable (depending on side wall slope), so the Thru-Hiker 3 is unrealistic for average adults, but may be doable for some. Quality is as you'd expect for a MSR product.
I will buy a4 person Thrue hiker mesh house
I there was a 7 feet x 7feet verion of the Mesh House availible that would acomodate 3 large mats, i promise that i buy it. My 2 sons are to young to sleep alone but to big to sleep confotable i a 3 perons shelter. Thanks and friendly greeting Johan Yes i recomend MSR to my friends, i am verry happy wiht my waterfilter and waterbag, mat and conforter
Well made and spacious
Positives: Build quality is high, zipper runs smoothly, easy to pack and light. Reinforcement ribbon along the long axis allows it to be set up taut, and solid rear wall is nice for putting towards wind/water. Cons: Pricey for a mesh inner, and 15D floor is thin! Consider using a polypro groundsheet to boost longevity.
Love it
I love this tent... Two hiking poles 4 stakes and my dyneema tarp are unbeatable for weight, breathability, and size.. I don't even bring a ground sheet cause the floor is made of some space age material
Small entry
Hard to get in and out without knocking down the pole and letting in all the mosquitoes especially for my 6 ft tall husband Otherwise light and easy.
