Some folks will love them.

Walking these trousers upstairs made me think REI had doubled the order due to the weight of the plastic packing bag. Nope, they really tilt the scales at 765 grams, which works out to around 1.68 lbs. I probably could have dealt with the weight (although you wouldn't to be stranded outdoors in a cold rain in these), but the color is pretty bad. I like burgundy and I like dark brown, but el topo here I'm not so so sure about. The other issue I have--and this is personal--is the fit of Kuhl's themselves. I keep trying them on in the stores, and they always fit weird. They have a short rise and ride low, which is fine if you are under about 5'10" I suppose but they always seem to run small to me, which combined with the odd fit just make them for me unwearable. Maybe they will work for you, or maybe you need to be Swiss sized, or just Swiss to love them. As a note to be helpful: I find Outdoor Research stuff to be designed and cut for my somewhat tall body well, but run large. Patagonia and Fjallraven fit pretty accurately and and have a more comfortable fit, for me. (BTW, I'm 6'3", 190 lbs)

More of ware them the more I like them

I’ve had a similar pair in the past. They are tough pants and are a bit stiff at first. The more I wear them the more I like them. At first I wasn’t so sure about the color, but now I like 👍🏼 it. It sets them apart from jeans. Give them some time to break-in and you’ll be happy.

Sturdy well made pants.

These are sturdy heavy duty pants and a good alternative to jeans. Protects well in heavy brush. They are not lightweight and can feel heavy on really hot days. Uses a sturdy button at the fly instead of the older KUHL snaps. Good upgrade. The Klassik cut is very roomy.

They are sturdy and heavy and not very comfy They fit me well yet they feel awkward and then the burgundy color really stands out. I will probably be taking them back
