Poor fit
They are nice, lightweight, well-made rain pants, but they seem to have been designed for people with no curves. I have a pear-shaped athletic body type, size 8-10, often between sizes, so I ordered the larger size based on my hip measurements after reviewing size charts on the Mammut website. The waist is massive on me, with lots of extra fabric billowing out (though thankfully there is a drawcord); they could probably serve as maternity pants for at least the first 1-2 trimesters. Unfortunately, the hips and thighs are skin-tight on me. I'm still able to move around, but there is very minimal stretch, and I worry about straining the fabric. I'll need to wear these over layers of varying thickness across different seasons, and I don't think these pants were designed to accommodate that. At this price point I bought them as a long-term investment, but what if I gain a few pounds? Maybe I got a pair that was mislabled, but I'm honestly not sure that these pants were designed for women's bodies.
