It works, sometimes

I read the directions and followed them exactly. The hot coffee went around the seal and spilled out of the sides. It was a hot mess trying to back the plunger out, and I ended up dumping the whole container. I got it to work a couple of times by being very careful and steady when pressing. Overall, it would be easier to just do a pour over. This product doesn't work well as a French press.

Inconsistent, but awesome when it works.

This was really a promising purchase. I quick alternative to a pour over. I was initially excited since it worked the first time out and this was great. On repeated use, it often leaks which is very inconvenient when you are on the run as a portable coffee much often finds itself. It is very sensitive to grind size, really needing coarse coffee. The plunger is threaded and connects to the cap, so you much use the plunger to even use it as a cup. Even used as a coffee cup it will sometimes leak. I better design would have been to have the cup be threaded and the plunger go completely in the cup with some sort of removal affordance. I would be cautious if you purchase this, great potential.

Whether it's used at home or on the trail, it works well for me. Great alternative to instant coffee.
