Electron pro

I bought the electron pro jacket in preparation for the Scottish winter. It dose everything I need it to do, fits well, large pockets, well sized helmet hood (also good for headphones). Wear it to the shops or overnighting in Glen Nevis, being cold won’t cross your mind. When in its stuff sack and a small canoe bag it fits perfectly into my pack replacing the two or three jackets I used previously, meaning I can carry more food and stay out for longer. The only down side I can see to this product is the price, but you get what you pay for. A good quality jacket that will last you 3-5 years with proper care.

Almost perfect

Went with this one vs. the microlight infinity alpine. It’s marginally puffier than the micro, but much warmer for what I consider a lightweight garment. The immediate build improvements over the microlight include the terrific cuffs and larger zipper. I would prefer an exterior napoleon pocket ala the microlight. The athletic/slim fit required I move up from my typical L to an XL. RAB regular-fit garments fit me about perfectly; a big reason I’ve stayed with RAB - the fit is predictable and consistent. My only gripe is the hood - it seems to ride closer to the nape of the neck when not in use. Perhaps it will relax some over time. Great daily driver. Anthracite looks excellent.

I wasn't happy about this

I wasn't happy about this jacket. Bought one in medium size and regretted it. I cut the tag off when I got it thinking it would fit fine and didn't try it on for about two weeks. When I did I found that it was far too tight for a medium. It was the size of a small and not the stated size medium. Upon looking at the label I saw that Rab had got the sizing wrong. It said US-M UK-M. Anyone who knows sizes will know that a medium in the US is a large in the UK. I had exactly the same problem with Capacitor Pull on that I bought at the same time. I therefore recommend anyone buying one of these who needs a medium size to buy it in size large. I ended up taking the Electron Pro Down Jacket and the Capacitor Pull On which were both unworn to the charity shop.

Outstanding jacket with high warmth

Outstanding jacket with high warmth to weight ratio, and well thought-out design. Very pleased with it and putting it to good use in the Scottish winter! Stuff-sac included as well. Two minor quibbles: the zip toggle on the chest pocket (inside the main front jacket zip) is so tiny that it's impossible to operate wearing gloves. And the colour of lining fabric on the jacket I was sent (brown) was a disappointment when the image on the company website for the "Ink" jacket shows a blue liner.

Amazing and warm coat

Here is a real review for you. I have had EB down costs as well as the Ghost Whisperer. I decided to upgrade to a higher end down coat. I was skeptical because of the price, how much better or warmer could the coat be compared to another cheaper similar coat. Well, turns out there is a difference. I absolutely love this coat. It’s amazingly warm, so comfortable, fits perfectly and I love the color. I can feel out over gear and this coat is amazing, truly happy.

I bought size large in

I bought size large in colour ink. The sizing is perfect and allows for layering on very cold days. The colour was as per the website which often is not the case with other manufacturers. This jacket is full of great features, and the zips are incredibly easy to open and close. Looking forward to wear this jacket time and time again. The quality of this item means I am now looking at adding either the Zanskar or Kangri GTX jacket and trousers to my gear.

Review for Electron Pro jacket

Review for Electron Pro jacket in Beluga; Excellent build quality, hardly sheds any feathers so far. I’m a 42” chest, 34” waist, in between medium and large according to size chart. Tried large, which was way too big. Medium fits fine everywhere but chest, just a bit more tight than I would like. Really warm, only needed 1 layer underneath so far. Not tested water resistance so far. Beluga colour colour great, very dark blue, almost black.
