Lovely lightweight sandals
These are ideal summer sandals. Great fit, bantam weight but sturdy and easy on the eye. I must point out that that I had to return four different pairs of sandals before I reached Zerraport11. All the sandals I returned didn’t fit for various reasons. Either the toe cup was too tight or the back strap which used to be adjustable was too loose or too tight or the sandal was too narrow. All the various models I returned I’ve actually worn in the past but for reasons unknown (to me) Keen have changed the design and manufacture of these once loved sandals. Why? I ask myself and more to the point I ask Keen.
Toe Protected Strap Sandals
Had been looking for a strap-like sandal and found that Keen made a pair. The toe protection and past success (for me) of Keen shoes swayed me to try the Zerraport Sandal. As with past Keen shoes, the room for those with wider feet like me is great. Very happy with purchase so far. Straps are easy to loosen and place on feet. Sandal was also much lighter than I expected. Have done several days of doing errands in town and some extended walks, but have not tried any hikes. My only complaint may be lack of color choice for straps. I would stick with the black sole and add more color options for the straps.
Serious design flaw on the fastener
First of all, I want to say that I wanted to absolutely love this sandal. Although I have a narrow foot, Keen usually has enough range in ability to tighten them down that I can still find a fit. Not on this one. The fastener only gives you about 1" to 2" total to tighten. Considering the straps adjust & move all across the foot, this should have been a consideration. I may actually take them to a shoe repair place to see if they can make a change for me to either reverse the buckle or shorten the longer strap. I would ONLY recommend this to a friend if they have medium to wide feet.
Excellent closed toe sandals
I wanted a sandal that was as open as possible while still protecting my toes on the trail and around the house. These are perfect. My feet can breathe on hot days. I've stubbed my toes many times in these sandals and never been hurt. The straps fit comfortably without irritation. I've had them for less than a month, but they feel really durable. My other Keen shoes have lasted many years. I measured my feet with a ruler and followed the sizing chart exactly. The sandals fit perfectly, so trust the chart. I'll probably buy another pair of these sandals. They're surprisingly good.
Comfortable Sandal with Great Support & Plenty of Toe Space
My first pair of Keen and they fit very well. Normally I am an 11.5 in Adidas & Nike sneakers, but the 11.0's in this Keen sandal fit just fine. I love that the toes are protected against rocks and other debris when wading. These sandals provide great support to my arches, and the toe box is on the wider side so my toes can really stretch out. I had read that some had issues with rubbing and irritation, etc. so I started wearing them with a sock and using them on my treadmill work-outs for a couple of weeks prior to wearing them outside. Figured that might be a good way to loosen them up and stretch them out a bit. It definitely helped as they are very comfortable now and my feet have plenty of breathing room.
Great! Until.... We Washed Them
Wow! These sandals started off perfect! Just as the other pairs we bought for our rustic beach vacation & wilderness hikes! They were comfy, fashionable, wearable, in water, on land, even on sand! The only problem was when we got home I followed the care instructions for all 3 pairs of Keen & unfortunately this style didn't hold up, in fact they are ruined! My son was so sad when he saw them! I'm definitely reaching out to Keen to see our options because by far these are the best looking & feeling closed toe water, sand, land, hiking sandals!
Comfortable, but rubs
The size and look of these sandals is perfect. I buy the men's sizing as my feet have become wider (footbed is wider on men's) as I get older and the men's sizing is more comfortable. The foot bed and toe box is perfect. However the sandals rub on both of my feet, on the outer part of the ankle. Maybe for some people they are perfect, but at this point, they are not for me. I am hoping that with band-aids and some additional wearing, they will break in so they are entirely comfortable.
New and Improved Zerraport
I still have my pair of the original Zerraport sandals. I know a lot of people had issues with their durability, but I used the heck out of mine and never had a problem. So when they came out with a new and improved model, I had to get a pair. Glad I did. I wore them on a trip to Sedona, AZ where we hiked through a wilderness trail. We crossed 4 creeks on the way. I just traipsed through them like I owned them. I'm glad they came out with an updated model. Good stuff!
Great concept sandals
These took me through a boundary waters paddle and portage with a wet foot adventure. The strap design allows for a quick dry. The straps rub a bit in a couple of places that I am hoping to overcome as they wear in. Other Keen sandals have an inner lining that helped prevent rub spots. These had great traction on rough terrain! The Zerraport II do not have the weak spot below the ankles where the sewing has given way on my other Keen Sandals- the H2 design.
Men's straps are much wider than women's
I've had two pair of the first zerrasport sandals for nearly 15 years? (maybe more). When I saw them re-released I bought 4 pairs!!! 2 women's in my size and 2 men's in an equivalent size. The straps on the men's are so much thicker than the women's. Not sure why that would be. They pinch across the top of my feet where the straps cross. I'm hoping that with time in the water, they will relax some. I'm so thrilled to have these sandals again!!!
