Beanie fit - not a Goldilocks sizing

My wife and I had high hopes for these beanies. Typically, we buy beanies that are “one size”, so we were surprised to see these were either Sm/M or L/XL in size. Purchased two of the larger size, and although we have normal adult-sized heads, these were waaay too big. We looked like big-headed aliens, which wasn’t helped by the stiff fabric of these hats which ensured that they retained their bulbous shape (think human beluga whales, especially in grey). Although we are big fans of Outdoor Research products and have many items of their clothing, these beanies were a disappointment and are the first OR products that we didn’t enjoy. Your experience with these hats may be different, but “heads up” (ahem) on the sizing.

Great Winter Addition

Love the fit and feel of this beanie. Hugs close to the head and fits well under the hood of my jackets. Enjoy if for my slow winter runs and doesn't shift around when exercising.

Comfortable

Very comfortable, not itchy and perfect size (be aware to choose the right one) that cover your hears perfectly fine. I do really suggest this Beanie!

Excellent beanie for cold winter temps and high winds.

Nice windproof beanie, fits well under bike helmet, very warm, but definitely restricts ability to hear, common with windstopper material.

Runs small

Unfortunately, the L/XL is just too small. It only covers the top of my ears. Otherwise, great product...

Just what I wanted for cold weather. Fits perfect. Will have to wait about 2.5 months to try it out.

Cold ears

This hat leaves the bottom half of my ears exposed, it’s not quite long enough.
