[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awesome jacket ... wish it would be a bit more water resistant. Does keeps you warm and easy to wear/fit. Plenty of pockets, and roomy for layers.
This jacket was almost an afterthought. I bought a different brand, and tried three others. This was almost an accidental find. SO glad I did. I love it. Pros: great two tone color options. I went with orange/green hand zipper pockets are large and roomy the thumbhole material is durable and strong the fabric inside by mouth is soft detachable hood dual zipper exterial check pockets interior google pocket good large armpit vents forearm pocket with lens wipe great length Cons: really none. each other jacket has something I didnt like so much. the only thing I will say I would like, would be the ability to completely remove the interior powder guard/skirt. Its fixed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used only 7 days so far but overall a great jacket. Doesn't feel rugged like the Steeptech jacket it was replacing. I was worried about how waterproof it was but have really put it to the test with the early skiing in the VT being sooo wet this year. The coat seems to soak the water up and get heavy but it doesnt soak through at all. The main reason I bought this coat was because its one of the only ones with a removable hood as I don't like permanent hoods. The zippers on the pockets are weird they catch allot I had my car keys stuck in my pocket for a while Not Good at the end of a ski day.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just came back from snowboarding trip to Keystone, Colorado. Temps on the mountain -5-15F. Wearing thermal long sleeve underneath and never felt cold. Very warm, but lightweight, jacket. Never felt restricted as far as motion, so worked well for boarding. Would recommend to anyone.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The only purpose for purchasing this jacket is to wear skiing. I am 5'11", 190lbs, 32" waist, 44 inch chest. I normally wear a large in TNF jackets, but have noticed that TNF must have changed how their jackets fit. Larges are now way to big for me. I ordered a medium in this jacket and it fits perfect with room for layering. I the jacket is well made, comfortable and looks sharp. As for durability, I won't know that until the end of ski season. But I have never had a TNF product fail me after years of abuse and wear. My entire ski kit is by TNF. Very happy with this purchase.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Took the jacket out to the back bowls in Vail CO. Great jacket, but leave the hood at home. It will detach on you and North Face customer service will say you need to purchase another jacket entirely.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely not waterproof. I bought this for my boyfriend as a ski jacket and within an hour of skiing while it was snowing the jacket was soaked. It also took forever to dry out.
Bought this matching set for my husband to wear in Colorado and it was perfect. He kept them warm and dry and it looked great!
Great jacket! Fits great on the body and arms, 6'3" 215# in an XL. The zippers are smooth and seem to be well done to bring waterproofing. Pockets are well placed , only downer is the left sleeve pocket is smaller than on my last TNF coat so a phone doesn't fit. This was a replacement for a 20 year old TNF coat, so I was apprehensive of switching because the old one was reliable and great - only added two zippers in 20yrs otherwise solid. Upgraded because waterproofing was done (could've sprayed I know) and a shoulder was starting to show significant wear. This new one is significantly lighter which made me concerned with the warmth. To my total surprise technology over the last 20yrs has improved and lighter can still be warm.
