surpassed expectations!
Took a chance with xero sandals because they looked like they had what I’m looking for in a sandal. Unlike the xero trail shoes which are not great. The shoes traction is WAY to spaced out which leads to rocks hitting that void spots and ouch! Also shoes to wide and generally don’t fit well. Now the sandals are awesome, very adjustable, great traction and the foot bed material is awesome. Don’t know what it is but very comfortable. Ran right out of box a five mile road and rocky, wet trail and performed perfect! Already ordered another pair, and price can’t be beat. Luna’s, which now are made in china too are $120+ these $80. I won’t buy xero shoes though anymore until they rework them!
I put these through their paces
I wear them as water shoes and also as walking shoes on trails and in the city. The traction has been enough for walking on wet slippery rock. They are comfortable and very minimalist shoes, look good, and the buckle system is easier to adjust than strings. They don't seem like the most durable shoes in the world, but for the price and with a warranty, they are the best. Not all of us want to spend $200+ on sandals.
Unsecured and Flimsy
Wore through the footbed in 2 months. I had to sew them in several places to keep them even remotely snug to the foot because the buckle system opens up as you walk. The material at the ankles where the straps meet stretches out and gets floppy very quickly.
Disappointing
I LOVE my Z-Trails, and needed a huarache style sandal, so tried these. I was sadly disappointed in the difficulty of adjusting them and the comfort in general. The footbed is great, just like the Z-Trail, but the rest is lacking. There are so many other companies out their nailing their attachment systems that I really hoped Xero Shoes would have gotten these better.
Not for the trail
The straps get loose very fast while walking so you have to adjust them constantly if you are walking a lot with them. As soon as you get them wet the food slides all over the place, so not ideal for wet days. They are still good for chilling outside in the summer as camp sandals or bbq day.
Great value, good for barefoot
Super affordable. Comfortable, flexible, wide toe box. Run quite small. I’m a 8.5, these are 9 and I barely fit them.
