I bought this jacket for car camping and hikes. Took it out for the first time in full day of rain in Yosemite. About an hour later, both my pockets had little pools of water in them. Everything in my pockets were soaked. Yes, the zipper was closed. And, both my arms up to the elbow were slightly wet too. I keep trying to give Columbia a chance. They meet my price range and some items have decent colors and style. I got this one because of the sale. But their products continue to disappoint.
6 foot 200 pound military member, size large is spot on. Color of outer shell and inner fleece are both subdued and work perfectly with most uniform options (Patagonia/crye). I used this exclusively during a 72 hour field exercise with rain/snow and temps between 25-45, it was perfect. Limited packing space so I replied on a polypro base layer and this alone. Outer shell still has some loft and insulation without inner layer, which I didn't realize, perfect.
I was trying to replace my 3-in-1 Interchange jacket after the zipper failed within a year or so of use. I thought this model would be an identical substitute. It isn't, the fit as well as the outer fabric are not the same and basically felt chintzy. I sent it back,
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this for myself and like the quality, functionality/lightness, design, colors and fit very much.
