It's beautiful, just 2 sizes too small.

It is beautiful! Love the color! Seems very functional too. It is just too darn small. I wear a medium in pretty much everything, but I saw some of the comments and ordered a large. In the large, I can hardly move with the lining zipped in. I have to decide whether to try an XL or not.

Perfect for frigid temps & will be great in spring

My daughter wore this coat to ski in Aspen during a polar vortex and remained comfortable all day, even when riding the lifts as the "last chair" for the last run. I initially bought her a size small, knowing she'd want to be able to layer bulky items beneath it, but it was way too large. We exchanged for an XS (she's 5'3" and weighs 107). We were blown away by how much better the XS fit her: she didn't get lost in the torso of the coat, and even the sleeves were better fitting. At 15, brand is "all-important", but I was already a North Face believer, so I was happy to oblige! Worth every single penny.

Runs smalls & is not as insulated as I’d like

This is a good looking jacket with a lot of great features. But it runs a bit small. I’m a medium in north face jackets typically but sized up to a large based on the reviews I read. It technically fits just fine but I didn’t have the space in the shoulders I’ll need once the ski season hits. I also didn’t love how flat the “insulation” on the arms felt. I ordered a few jackets online so I could compare them side by side and this one didn’t make me feel noticeably warmer the way some of the others did. All in all I don’t think it’s a bad jacket but for the price I think you can do better.

Never again

Never again. I have previously had Therm 3-in-1 jackets that lasted 20+ years. I finally bought a new jacket from a NF mall store. The new jacket has an iron on logo and inferior zipper. The arms have almost zero mobility, even sizing up. I can barely drive, much less use ski poles. The logo peeled off in the first week in Jan 2024. The zipper repeatedly comes undone from the bottom when zipped.

Fits a whole bottle of wine in the pocket

I've happily worn this jacket snow machining for the past few years. Recently discovered that you can fit a whole bottle of wine, upright in the pocket.

It's a great coat. It's breathable (pit zips), waterproof, and warm. I wish it was a roomier fit, but sizing up could improve that. I also find it strange that you can't use the powder belt with the insulated liner zipped to the shell. You can still access the powder belt by wearing the two layers independently, so not a big issue. Otherwise, I would still reccommend this jacket, esp if you grab it on sale.

Doesn't disappoint thus far!

So far I am loving this dual jacket! It replaced an older Tri-Vent dual jacket combo....the waterproofing was no longer effective. (And it is now called, Dri-Vent) I haven't been out in a major downpour, but thus far, it has been great on the rainy days experienced. I am not sure about how warm it will feel with second jacket/liner in it. Haven't experienced that really, hence, the 4 out of 5 rating. Also, although I do think the cornflower color is pretty, my last jacket was a darker blue. I know there was a purple combo option and black. For a person who loves SOME color, the purple didn't feel that attractive and the cornflower blue color will likely show the dirt much easier-around cuffs/seat. We travel and I suspect attaching it to backpacks, etc. will show that.

I bought this jacket over 10 years ago

I bought this jacket in high school and still wear it over 10 years later. There's no doubt in my mind will I buy this jacket again for more years to come. Only recently has the waterproofing given way, and the top layer started to show holes. This jacket has kept me completely dry in pouring rain and warm when everyone else was freezing. From winter hiking, through many deployments, and all around everyday this is the one thing I always being with me. I recommend it hands down and will never buy anything else.
