[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a premium stability shoe for sure. I experienced and realized that stability never felt like this. I love this shoe for my easy runs, long runs, walks, or just when I'm standing for a longer time - the level of support is super high. The shoe combines all the latest concepts in guidance and stability. Love the color and the design is just amazing.
Very comfortable, the foot is wide, the stability of the foot is very felt. And they work in both slow and fast rhythms, highly recommended.
Received brand new GEL-Kayano 31 September. Early October did run on pavement and the sole had section come apart and flapped around almost causing fall. Used shoe approximately 5 times very short runs only.
The Asics GEL-KAYANO 31 shoes are true to size and may feel slightly uncomfortable at first but become very comfortable once broken in. They are highly recommended for all-day wear, making them a great choice for work or extended walking periods.
The heel loop from this shoe rubbed my heel to the point of bleeding during its first use. 8 mile run at 7:30 mile pace. Paired this shoe with ASICS speed no show socks. Horrible result.
I own the Kayano 31 now for a week and have been testing different circumstances. And I have to say I'm happy. After running in wet conditions I have to say that the grip is much better than the Kayano 30, which I disliked quite a lot after my purchase in autumn. It felt like they slipped at every footstep in just mildly wet conditions due to poor grip. Running on stones and wooden bridges doesn't feel like an issue anymore. The shoes do feel a bit cloudy though like having a very thick cushion under my feet (which it is) I'd like to have a bit more feedback. All together I'm quite happy with the shoes, no injuries so far and good grip.
I bought these a few months ago and they feel great and look great but the rubber parts of the outsole are falling apart/off. I should still have life left in them I typically keep my shoes nine months to a year and these just didn’t make it. I noticed them getting loose within the first month. I love everything else about the shoe, but it’s longevity is to be desired, hopefully fixed on the next generation I’ve owned at least five to six generations of KAYANO‘s and only have worn ASICS since 2003. I used to run the GT-21xx and GT-20xx before KAYANO as I get older I love the extra cushioning and stability. I hope it gets fixed on the next generation.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having a neutral gait, I thought this pronation shoe wasn't for me. The Gel-Kayano 31 was a big revelation. Even though it felt as if I had invisible "training wheels" on both sides of the shoe, my first impression was great. After a few minutes, I understood how these shoes were designed to control each stride and resist movements that could cause injury. I see how this can happen when I get tired and loose focus on longer runs and/or running on uneven urban surfaces. Amazing comfort and stability. Excellent grip too. Will be using this pair on my longer training runs. A fantastic addition to my shoe rotation ahead of Paris 2024.
Honestly the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn by far. So good I don’t even need my Superfeet or Aetrex liners I used in my kayano 30s. Much more cushion than the 30s. Love the heel tab and mesh toe box for summertime. Like walking on a cloud. I have flat, wide, overpronating feet and I don’t even need the wide size. If they didn’t squeak walking on hardwood, I probably wouldn’t even take them off inside. I have the size 10.5 Mars Red - not sure if shoes can get any better than these.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Its a while since I bought a pair of asics as I found I always wore holes out through the toes. I bought a pair of the new Kayano 31s at the end of January and found them to very comfortable, however, after only 330km there is already a hole in the heel of one shoe and the start of a hole in the other. Very disappointing they have worn through so quickly, looks like I'll be going back to Brooks !
