If you own HERO12, this is a must have accessory. You can capture 177° field of view with unbreakable stabilisation.

The best action cam combination I ever had

I have had all Gopros since version 3. The Gopro 12 is the queen of action cams, it offers more advantages than you could expect. Above all, the image quality is important to me and also the wide angle. Together with the new Max Lens Mo 2.0 I have the best image quality I ever had. I am a paraglider and now I have an extremely wide angle, the colors and contrast are great. I bought a second Gopro 12 to have a permanent one with Max Lens Mod.

Product spare part unavailable

The Product itself is "okay", although stabilization is extremely decreased while in maxhyperview mode. Especially for skiing, biking or water sports that's super annoying and not worth it. The field of view is shifting quite much along the edges and the quality part of the recordings is not much larger than with the standard lens. That's why I wouldn't recommend it. Besides. . To protect the lens from dust, the mod comes with a silicone cover. Unfortunately they are easy to loose and GoPro does not have any spare parts at all. Without the cover it's impossible to keep your camera and the mod clean. In my opinion a no-go for a top level company promoting high quality products.

If someone I knew was buying the hero 12 as I did I would reccomend the purchase of the max lense mod 2.0 with it straight away. The wide angle but with horizon lock in all modes is next level and since it’s waterproof I leave it on my camera until I actually want to take some underwater shots that require the flat lense and switch just for that

Expands your view, unless it gets wet. Beware of the app!

The FOV expansion is pretty great.I used it for snowboarding and it catches a lot of action from both helmet and selfie stick. However, the 3-in-1 gopro selfie stick is too short to catch the action even with MLM 2.0. The other thing is the hydrophobic coating. Last weekend there were clouds atop the resort, and the lens has accumulated dozens of tiny droplets. These didn't shake off even with wind, and the footage requires heavy post-work, or simply scraping, unfortunately. Another point of note is the QUIK app. It's very, very, very slow to sync your settings from gopro (using 12black). Sometimes it nukes your settings if you select something. I have one ruined run, because previewing camera through app disabled my lens mod. This resulted in footage looking like it was shot through a ship's window. I'm sure the lens mod will be great for mountain biking in dry conditions and some underwater shots. Tiny rain sticks too much. But maybe it'd stick to any other lens too?

Makes all the difference!

When I initially bought the gopro 12 I wasn’t fully amazed by the video quality, but this lens made all the difference, the improvement was big. Video quality improved, stability improved significantly and the photos did too. If you are buying the gopro 12 you must include this right away.

big improvement

4K is the biggest improvement over the previous version. The external coating supposedly more resistant is. a bonus too. think that the Lens Mod 1.0 I used it just for fun couple of time. the new one I use if almost all the time I wish HDR would be available.

Great wide angle for POV

I love the lens, it's amazing and doesn't look distorted. The only thing is the lens cover is pealing off on the edges revealing the silver metal underneath.
