Disgusting.
The single worst meal I have ever eaten in my entire life. Doubly cruel to have this as a backpacking meal because once it's "cooked" ya gotta finish it. I seriously considered chucking this off the side of the mountain but didn't want to subject any wildlife to this misery.
A real disappointment
I had high hopes for this, as I want more cold-soak options for backpacking lunches. This was just not pleasant to eat. The texture was off, and the flavors were also gross. I would not eat this again. Thankfully, I was trying this at home and not on the trail, because I would have had to carry it out. It was also difficult to cold soak - it requires soaking on it's side and then turning over. For a cold soak meal, I want to be able to put water it in, put in my pack, and have it be ready when I get to my lunch spot. This is unpleasant from a texture and flavor perspective and from a preparation perspective.
I bought because of the bad reviews...
I like that it takes cold water. I want to see if it was as awful as other reviews have said... and it is pretty darn gross. I am absolutely not a picky eater but it is so insanely salty. This would be great if I rinsed off some of the seasoning before full soaking it but as it comes, I wouldn't eat this Cucumber Chaat again.
Bad Small batch?
I was so excited about this one with its authentic ingredients. The flavors were different and "interesting", however something was up with a funky overly salty-like taste. Did GOOD TO GO have a bad batch? I see other reviews that are similar to the description i'm giving here. It mentions "Small Batch" on the front of the package. I'm about to reach out directly to the company to see what is going on.
I liked this!
I liked this a lot - the crunch and the flavors were right on, and it was perfect for stoveless summer backpacking. I don't know why the other reviewers didn't like it, I thought it was pretty great and a nice dinner. Will definitely buy again.
Inedible
I followed the instructions and the food was still dry and inedible. I could not eat this meal and was 40 miles out in the backcountry and had to toss it in the fire to get rid of it…
Nothing Indian about it!
Too salty and very strong taste. Does not come remotely close to any Indian street foods. Don’t waste your pack weight with this junk.
not good
Trust the reviews. This was not good. Flavor and texture are all off.
