Features

  • Originally released in 2020, this discontinued style is equipped with a first-generation filter and purifier cartridge
  • This filter is not compatible with electrolyte and drink mixes: It does not include a Grayl GeoPress® One-Way Valve
  • Award-winning OnePressâ„¢ global protection is effective for use on all 7 continents so you can save money, travel sustainably and never buy single-use bottled water again
  • Removes viruses (e.g., hepatitis A, norovirus, rotavirus), bacteria (e.g., E. coli, salmonella, shigella) and protozoan cysts (e.g., amoebae, cryptosporidia, giardia)
  • Simply fill, press and drink—fill from any freshwater source, press on the ground or other firm surface and drink purified water
  • Activated carbon effectively adsorbs chemicals, pesticides, heavy metals, flavors and odors; filter removes microplastics and other particulates
  • 3-function SimpleVentâ„¢ drink cap allows one-handed hydration through the fast-flow drink spout, vents air while purifying and blocks cross-contamination, grime and dirt
  • Softpressâ„¢ ergonomic comfort pads and tactile TopoGripâ„¢ TPE on all heavy-use surfaces allow nonslip, anti-fatigue pressing
  • With virtually no setup time: GeoPress purifies and filters 24 fl. oz. of water in 8 sec. (5 L per min.)
  • Replaceable cartridge is rated for 350 cycles (65 gal./250 L); as press time reaches 25 sec. (or 3 years have elapsed since first use) it's time to replace the cartridge
  • When stored properly, an unused cartridge has a 10-year shelf life
  • Built tough to perform in harsh conditions and withstand drops up to 10 ft. onto concrete, even when full of water
  • Independently tested by a certified laboratory to meet or exceed NSF/ANSI protocols 42 and 53 for sediment, pathogen and chemical removal

Doesn't last in hot/humid climates

I purchased this bottle 1.5 years ago for use as my main clean water source in tropical hot and humid third world countries. The bottle shape has warped likely due to the hot/humid climates I serve in, so the suction isn't as good and it no longer functions as well as it used to. It leaks from both the top and the bottom. I have used this bottle frequently over the last 1.5 years and I am already having issues with it since they claim it will last for 10 years. On a positive note, I have not developed any water-borne illnesses since utilizing this bottle, so it seems to filter well.

Highly recommended for travelers

I used this bottle while traveling to Southeast Asia because tap water is unsafe to drink and bottled water is recommended. I was never sick on my trip and avoided buying and throwing away multiple plastic bottles per day. The Grayl bottle is super easy to use and I was able to refill throughout the day.

It just works!

I have had and used my Grayl for 2 years now on multiple trips. It serves great!! I have had several other filter / purifier products that pump or squeeze water and the Grayl is FAR superior in performance. I replaced the filter last month after the press became a bit slow. This product does its job in keeping me hydrated from rivers streams or springs. With 24 oz I don’t even carry a separate water bottle when hiking along streams or rivers. What a great and innovative product!

Number 1 backpacking purifier.

Best purifier for backpacking. If filter can be used more, it will be unbeatable. Maybe company consider back flushing (if possible).

Works, except...

It works, and the taste is great. However... Grayl says that you'll know that you need a new filter when its more difficult to press down and takes 30 seconds of pushing, but it was like that from the first try. I've only used it about 3 or 4 times, and its been like that the whole time. I'm a strong person and used it the way videos tell ya to. I don't know if I should just get a new filter for it but it seems wrong to have to do that immediately. But I also don't think I should keep using it if I'm afraid that the filter is faulty...

Large and clunky

This was a real disappointment! I wanted to like it but it was hard to handle and is not suitable for long term travel. It makes a very poor water bottle when the filter is not used. I believe it be a good choice for short term wilderness trips.

Excellent option for safe water. Simple to use

Extremely convenient, easy to use, simple. It is heavier than a Nalgene but not enough to matter for me. The pros far out weigh the con. The only con i could come up with is weight.

Grayl does it again.

It’s a grayl, what more can I say? Works well and the stealth black looks great.
