I don’t understand the low ratings on this item based on the size/weight when that information is clearly stated. For what this pad is advertised for, it’s perfect. I purchased for kayak camping and it’s fast and easy to inflate using the same pump I use to inflate my kayak. Plenty thick so that my body doesn’t feel the ground and warm enough for our mountain climate in 3 seasons. Getting it back in the stuff sack is the only downside but not enough to deter me using it. Will probably just add it to my dry bag instead.
This is one of the most comfortable pads I have owned. Yes its big and heavy but thats expected. I pack it on the back seat of a motorcycle. The only complaint I have s getting it back in the storage sack. Would it really hurt to make it an inch bigger so you can easily get it in the bag instead of it being a mma champoinship level fight??? Its so tight that my first bag split trying to put it in. StoS sent a replacement.
Super comfy and easy to fill. Did not leak air during week-long trip. Foam makes a big difference! Only drawback is the stuff sack, which ripped after the second use. Unexpectedly bad quality stuff sack for such a great sleeping pad. Definitely not a deal-breaker though.
Bigger than I thought. Definitely not for backpacking by any means, BUT! Absolutely comfortable and easy to inflate and pack up. Not sure why so many negative reviews are being placed about it. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! The pad is not broken you just need to know how to use the valve. Super comfortable, but a little heavy at close to 3lbs. Doesn't roll up small either like a backpacking pad would, but it does roll up in to the dry sack it came with just fine. DO NOT expect to backpack with this just due to its weight and packed down size. Its great for car camping.
I was able to inflate the pad using my mouth in about 5 minutes, the pad is very thick and fills nicely. I am 5'10" and 165 lbs with the regular size it feels like a cloud. There were also patch kits included. The valve for air makes it very easy to inflate/deflate as well. The only negative is the bag is a little difficult but not too bad and the weight/size of it is a little much for backpacking but perfect for car camping.
Product is poor. Stuff sack is basically non-usable, weight is likely much higher than advertised as other reviewers noticed, significantly worse quality all around than other sleeping pads I have used. Much too big to be functional for any outdoor activity, yet still expensive. Remarkably inconvenient to inflate and pack which is not counteracted by being a nice pad to sleep on. Regret purchasing this online and recommend literally any other sleeping pad you may consider
So I like this pad, and want to give it five stars, but the provided stuff sack tore after taking out the pad and repacking it once. Admittedly, it was a tight fit, but I deflated the pad 3x before rolling it and loosened the webbing on the stuff sack completely before sliding the sack around the pad. Light force was applied, but no more than a quilt into a similar stuff sack. Bit of a bummer! Will be looking for a replacement sack in the future.
REI is not providing correct weight info! I picked up my size large (for the additional width), and couldn't believe the bulky size and weight. It is actually 2lbs 14oz - nearly 3 pounds! This is sold on the merits of its R rating and comfort, but I don't know many people who will want to pack this in addition to a 4 season tent and 0 degree sleeping bag. Crazy heavy! This is going back...
Only half side of the pad inflated after opening the valve for a week .
Pros are it's super comfortable and easy to inflate. Conae are it's a pain to roll back up into the original sack. It's also not wide enough for me to sleep with my hands to the side and not be falling off of the sleeping pad.
