Bought this model in March (Khaki) and loved it! I wear it all the time on my long walks because it is so comfortable. Loved it so much that I decided to now buy the same color in black. Surprisingly the black ones are very uncomfortable. Somehow the fit is wrong. My toes feel tighter and the shoe seems slightly smaller. As I was checking and comparing both pairs to make sure I didn’t purchase the wrong model, the only thing I noticed is that they were manufactured in different countries. Maybe this explains it? I don’t know, in summary, very disappointed .
These are nice looking shoes. I had to put my own insoles in them as the arch support was not the best. I wish the toe box was bigger. I cannot speak yet to the waterproof’ness of them but as they are Gore-Tex I have no reason to believe they won’t stand up.
Bought these for a trip to Yellowstone and Glacier National payl for light, waterproof hiking needs. Very comfortable through miles of walking and hiking.
Travelled to London and Edinburgh on the holidays. As a Hoka only user with plantar fascitis, this amazed me. Protected me from rain, cold and 6000 steps per day.
These shoes were comfortable out of the box, with no break-in period required. My husband and I both purchased the Moab Speed 2 GORE-TEX shoes for a trip to Alaska. Needing waterproof hikers, but not wanting to pack extra sneakers, we thought these would fill the bill and weren’t disappointed. They got us through airports, many hiking trails and even into the gym. We had a dry week in Alaska, so we didn’t get to test the water resistance, but they’re GORE-TEX, so I think they’ll be fine. Really comfortable shoe! My husband thought they felt true to size, but I feel they run 1/2 size big—nothing a thicker sock can’t remedy.
I ordered these because they were the closest thing to the last pair I bought and loved until they fell apart, and unfortunately they aren't as good for my feet as the previous pair. As I was walking and hiking, I noticed that my heel kept sliding up with each step. My foot never came out, but it definitely felt like it was going to. Since I wore them outside already, I can't return them. So I will keep wearing them but not for hiking because I need to feel stable while climbing a mountain and these do not provide that for me. Usually Merrell hiking shoes and boots are the only ones I can wear reliably, so this was a little disappointing. Maybe the next pair will be better.
Great lightweight waterproof shoe that is fashionable enough to wear with anything, but also rugged enough to handle some light trails. This is definitely not a hiking boot, but delivers a lot of versatility. Feet can get hot with the Gore-tex lining, but not bad with the right socks. Wore these on and off throughout Europe for a few weeks. Held up very well and highly recommend.
Great shoes! I live in glacier np with a lot of scree and rough terrain. These shoes have been able to keep up all summer season. I no longer have hip pains after hiking 15 mile days. These shoes didnt need anytime to break in, immediately were perfect for me. Great treads for traction. Already put 100miles into these and no out of the ordinary wear n tear. Definitely recommend.
After reviewing several options, and trying on many, I chose these shoes because they had good quality support, yet lightweight, and waterproof. I will be walking the final stage of the Camino Francis and I wanted a pair of trail shoes and not hiking boots. These were the best choice for that purpose.
I bought the Moab Speed 2 Womens Wide in Khaki (no longer available) about a month ago. These were very comfortable and wider than my other Merrill sneakers. I really liked them so I just bought another pair in gray. These won’t show the dirt as much as the khaki.
