Outdoor Afro + REI Co-op  Nature Nap Satin Pillow

As a backpacker and bike touring fan, when I think of a camping pillow I think of something that packs down into a large handful, so I was very surprised when this very luxurious, very nice, rather large pillow arrived in a large stuff sack. Fortunately, we have a camper trailer that makes a perfect home for this pillow. Regular pillows don't pack very small, so considering this pillow in that light makes it quite usable for RV or car camping purposes. It packs nicely and smaller than a regular house pillow. I was surprised that it also expands quite nicely after having been out of its sack for an hour or so. And putting it back in the sack is easy enough, and there's room to stuff my pajamas and some bedside accoutrements into the sack as well. The pillow itself is zipped up into a very satiny, plush material adding to the pillow's comfort. So if you're looking for a little luxury when camping and space or weight is not an issue, you might enjoy this pillow.

Extremely comfortable and lightweight! I love traveling with my pillow when I’m on tour, in the outdoors, and honestly it’s a new security blanket for me. I don’t leave the house without it if I know I’ll be fine for more than 24 hours. One of my favorites from Outdoor Afro!! I can’t wait to get the sleeping bag and tent!!❤️‍🔥

A great pillow for "glamping" that feels great for any camping adventure. It has a nice satin cover that looks and feels great. One feature I like about this pillow is that the cover can be removed and washed separately. While it is too bulky for backpacking, I would not only use this for camping, but for car trips as well as it comes with a nice zippered canvas storage bag. Great product!

Upon opening the Satin Pillow storage sack I thought "Hey, this pillow is better than the one I sleep on every night at home!" Comfort-wise, it's a little softer than my home pillow, but better than the pillow I usually use when car camping. And car camping is the key here. No one's going to be packing this one into the backcountry. My camping style tends toward minimalism and functionality, so, for me, this is overkill. But it's a big, wide world out there, and if your style is closer to glamping, then this pillow would fit the bill. Dimensions are 15"x26", about the size of a regular pillow. See the comparison picture. If you choose to purchase this one, you may want to cover it with an old (or new) pillow case. I know after a couple days of hiking and camping, my hair's a little greasy and I can never get ALL the sunscreen off my face. I'm not sure what the satiny cover will be like without a pillow case after a few camping trips.

I got this pillow from REI and I'll give the Pros and Cons. The pro is the most important thing, in my opinion. It's VERY comfortable. That's what we look for in a pillow, isn't it? I could sleep every night with this pillow. I was going to take this camping with friends, but it rained all night, so we spent the weekend inside, at my friends' home. I slept in the guest bedroom using the pillow. I slept very well. Now the cons: It's very big. It doesn't pack into a smaller package. When I camp, I used a blow-up pillow that packs into a very small package and I like it that way. If you're a Glamper and don't mind taking along another large bag for a pillow, then this fits the bill. In the pictures I have a chapstick to show the size of the packed and unpacked pillow.

Travel friendly, the pillow comes in a small bag that I can easily attach to my back pack. The satin pillow case is so curly hair friendly! Super soft and folds back into the bag super easy, I love it!

First of all, I love how it comes in a mini duffel bag! It's so cute, easily attaches to my bag, and keeps it clean while carrying it around. Second, I'm someone who always travels with a bonnet or a satin pillow case, so it's nice to have one less thing to think about when traveling. Plus, I love the color/design! It's just really cute and functional overall.

The cover is really nice thick quilted and a standard size pillow can squeeze in with mild effort. I suspect it will slide around on a sleeping bag though being so smooth. I just rec'd and haven't decided whether to keep it yet. The stuff sack is great. The pillow itself is awful—lumpy and does not fill the pillowcase. I waited over 24 hours for it to fluff which it did a bit, but not enough. So for the case and the zippered stuff sack at sale price it's good and you can put a more supportive pillow insert if you're a side sleeper.

I love to camp. But when it comes to my sleep system, I want pure comfort; I want to sleep like a rock at night. I have never been a fan of inflatable pillows and bringing my pillows from home cause so much more bulk! This pillow is a game changer!!! It’s so comfortable, comes in a great zip case, and it just what I want and need while camping!

I've tried my fair share of camping pillows, but none have quite matched up to the comfort and convenience of this small satin camping pillow. It’s small enough for a backpacking trip, yet comfortable enough to provide the support needed for a restful night's sleep under the stars!
