Lightweight Skis!
I bought these skis for backcountry touring and pow resort days, and so far, I am impressed! I’m 5’ 2” and currently ride the Blizzard Black Pearl 88s (153cm), and as soon as I tried these new skis they were unbelievably light (160cm). In comparison to the Helio Carbon skis, my Black Pearl skis feel incredibly heavy. I paired the Helio Carbon 104 skis with the Fritschi Tecton 13 bindings and wow! It’s easy to get my boots locked in and it glides nicely. These skis are perfect for pow days and I can’t wait to get on them more.
Top notch / Balance!
After spending months reviewing, spreadsheets and gear geeking out, honed in on the Carbon 104 as the perfect ski for blend of uphill/descent performance. Lightweight meets stability, best all-rounder for the backcountry I have met!
Great ski for
My favorite "one quiver" ski (would also consider the 95 for the same). Great float in powder and handles well in crud. Appreciate how light they are on the uphill, but find they ski great as well. Tips can get a bit of chatter and deflect in crud at high speed, but it is very manageable. Quite nimble; doing well in trees and tight chutes. Hold a decent edge on groomers. Holding up well after >100 days on them. 5' 9" and 150/160 lbs; 178 cm length (would also consider the 184s for my size and if strong skier); mounted with ATK Kuluar 12; Technica Zero G Pro Tour boot
Light and fast
Impressed with these skis so far. Light and comfortable on the up, very quick and nimble on the down. Float nicely in soft snow.
Love the Helio carbon 104
I am 6'1 and have put the current version of this ski through its paces for a season of backcountry skiing in the Whistler backcountry and a trip to the Selkirks. Love how light this ski is for its size. Combined with the ATK Raider an amazingly light and capable setup. Super fun on 30 cm days and can carve some turns on the groomers if needed. I am a private ski instructor at Whistler Blackcomb and spend as many days as possible in the backcountry. I know my skis.
Love them
I upgraded for their 2019 model, and man I’m stoked. These things are great for skiing the Wasatch range. They handle the powder sooo well, and the icy/hard packed path back down to the car isn’t too bad despite how lightweight they are. I’m glad they raised the rocker in the front, I don’t feel like I have to sit as far back seat and the skies set their skin track better than the old pair I had.
Great Skis!
I just got this pair and haven’t used them yet, but I loved my first pair. I had a 2018 pair and used them a ton. They finally needed replacing so I got these. The performance and durability are outstanding given how light they are. I have a pair of the Helio 104 and Helio 88 and I love them both!
Good in the fluff, could be better in the hardpack
Only been on them two days so far in variable conditions due to windpack. Felt great in the softer snow but could do better on choppy hardpack. Went with the recommended mounting point though instead of closer to center which I typically prefer and may have helped.
If you can only have one ski, this is it
Whether powder, corn or steep technical lines, these skis are all you need. Mounted with ATK 12’s, you now have no excuse not to tour until the sun sets because you won’t feel their weight on the skin track. Build quality seems excellent. Flat tails for the win!
The Best
You cannot go wrong with this ski. It's an incredible blend of light weight and performance. One recc: If in doubt, size down. The boards stay snappy in tight situations at very little expense to flotation or edge holding. Bravo
