Ordered this shirt to ride, run, and backpack in long sleeves during the SW Colorado summer, e.g., sun & heat. The material would have been good for that but like the other reviewers, I found that the sizing is bizarre. I have smartwool 150s and 250s in small, and they fit like a glove and work well. This shirt and the REI price tag both say the size is small, and it is advertised as generously cut rather than form-fitting, but in reality it is so ridiculously oversized that it seems that it should have been marked as a large. The sleeves hang to the fingertips, the hem is 3 inches below the waist, the shoulders would better fit Mike Trout, and the midriff is like a luffing sail. Useless for the intended purpose.
Bought the XL. I'm 6'0", 220lbs and usually wear XL for decent fit or XXL for loose fit. This shirt at XL is too long. I could have a torso 4" taller and the sleeves go down to the knuckles of my hand and the wrist is very loose. That said, the torso size makes me nervous to buy this shirt in large. The shoulders fit well, chest is decent, stomach is way loose. I really like the feel of the wool and it performed great keeping me cool in the sun and warm in the shade. 120 wool is thin like women's leggings for reference.
I like the material. It's soft and comfortable. I have a 150 weight Smartwool shirt that fits nicely. This one, however, is oddly shaped. The neck hole is too big, the sleeves too long, the torso too baggy. I had to return it as it just wasn't wearable.
This shirt is about 2 sizes too big. Even after washing it.
Great material - terrible fit - Unusable for me. The material is just what I'm looking for in a super light weight, comfortable feel, but the fit is so bad I can't use it. I purchased a small ultralight, and compared it to a large all season, and it's closer to that in sizing. Gave it to my girlfriend to keep with her size larges.
Great product, poor sizing. I was looking forward to using this but, alas…
Very comfortable. Nice for under other shirt. Warm but not hot. Nice feel next to skin.
Soft as panties lol. If you like comfort and willing to pay for it. You'll like this.
Comfortable and great on my bike kept me warm and dried fast when things got hotter
Ridiculously large neck openings continue in Smartwool shirts!!
