Excelllent way to keep your back side warm
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. I couldn’t be happier with the Ignik Backside Heated Pad XL. Perfectly fits my racing seats in my vehicle, the controls are easy to understand and use. Having 4 different temps it’s easy to dial in the correct heat desired. My favorite part is the texture, almost like a cordura nylon, no sliding but also doesn’t stick to clothing. The usb-c power plug also grants itself to be used with a power pack for tailgating or camping. I used it briefly outside next to my fire pit and it was perfect for keeping the back side warm.
Warm, but not wide enough
This seat warmer did feel nice and warm. I really liked the display on the controls, especially using it in the dark. With it being lighted, I could easily tell the current heat setting. The controls were also very easy to use. However, my biggest dislike was how narrow the seat pad is. I'm not a huge female, but my hips and outer thighs hung over the edge and didn't get warm. Those are the areas that I always struggle with keeping warm in cool weather, so a big drawback for me. I also found the pad itself to be a little stiff, though perhaps it will break in with more use. Finally, I have no idea how the paracord is supposed to be used to attach the seat to anything, there was no mention of how to use it in the instruction booklet. Overall, I will continue to use this as a seat heater for our car and truck, and may use it in a camp chair as well, but really wish it were wider.
Heated Pad
I have used this heated pad a couple times for sports events. It worked great during my nephew's soccer game, though it is a little hard to see the LED light on it. I did try to use it at the NFL game, but had difficulty with security and them approving use of the battery pack that is required since it was going to be used for something other than a cell phone. This was quite a bit frustrating, as I had to take it back to the car. I do wish there was a small amount of battery on the actual heat pad, but really like how it can hook up to a battery pack for extended use. I can't wait to use this heating pad this winter, as once I get cold, I have a hard time warming up. It will come to a lot of use this hunting season and into the start of fishing season next year. Looking forward to continuing to use this outdoors and recreationally, just not at professional stadiums.
Decent warmth on camping chairs and car seats
Ignik products are pretty cool, this one is no exception. The idea and product work great. The basic connection is a USB-C that can disconnect from the main cable to expose a barrel 12v connection. I wish they included a Car adapter but pretty much everyone has one so I cant complain too much on that. The heat range is between 10-100. 70+ is the only point you really will feel something especially if you are wearing thicker clothing which you probably will be since this product is more aimed for use in the colder climates. I do wish they included more straps or a longer one so secure it to your chair, it tends to swim around when you get up and sit down. Maybe a more grippy material on the backside would be beneficial.
Warm enough, but not very convenient.
Reviewed as a part of the REI trailblazer program. The design is sleek and the multiple heating temperatures gives you options for level of warmth for different use cases (i.e. sitting at a campfire vs. high alpine base camping). You'll need to get a charging mechanism to take this on the go, which makes it less practical for backpacking our using outside of a vehicle. For car camping, it's great. Be prepared to get more accessories if it doesn't adapt to your cars chargers or if you want to take it on the go.
unknown due to…
So I received this today in the mail, and I was excited thinking it had its own power bank you just had to charge. However it doesn’t, and you have to buy a special 12V at 2Amps USB-C power bank. I don’t have one of those, so I was hoping I could at least maybe use a standard USB-C wall brick, but this also needs to be some special power supply. So I cannot recommend this or not recommend this as I don’t really know how it performs. Kinda of an odd thing that it wouldn’t have its own batteries. This thing must become really hot when you can use it.
cannot recommend or not not recommend it
I received this item via the REI Trailblazers program, and was very excited to test it out. However, I needed to purchase some more parts to use this pad. It requires a special battery adapter to use via your car, or when backpacking or surfing. So I cannot at this time recommend or not recommend this product. I would if anything go on the side of not recommending this product unless you purchase the needed accessories to use it. I will update this review later on once I have had a chance to actually try it out.
Toasty seat
Used this in my car as I don't have seat warmers. It worked great with the car adapter, and it keeps me warm. I'm not sure I would use this for camping purposes, but I enjoyed it for the use I decided upon.
Yeow! Worked for 12 seconds then quit!
First, am I crazy or how can a USB C plug provide 12volts? The other provided connector was a barrel dc voltage plug. And where am I supposed to plug THAT in? A reasonable choice would have been a standard cigarette style plug. Of course, you could buy that adapter for another $30 or so. Ignik, tell ne you make better products than this!
Great for car or camping
I bought this to use as a heated seat in my car. Works great! I just wish it was a little wider to cover my whole car seat. This will be great when I go out camping. The other downfall is it has to be plugged in to work so make sure you have a long lasting power supply.
