Lean and Mean mountain slaying machine

This shell has proven a perfect addition to time in the elements where protection is critical and weight is a factor. I have used this on a several volcano ski missions this past summer and spring. It packs light and provides the summit protection needed when wind is ripping and body temps are dropping. Marmot allotted a good amount of pockets without going overboard and the pit zips provide ventilation that allows you to tune your protection on the move without having to stop to layer up or down. When it comes to rain protection, it's hard to beat Gore. It also vents well for active pursuits.

Durability?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this jacket for less than a year, and I have only used it in light rainy conditions (mostly walking around town). It is taken in and out of my backpack quite a bit. It sheds water well and keeps me dry when I have it on which would bode well for more extreme conditions. My major concern is that despite not using it much, there is already a small hole on the inside of the jacket in one of the pockets, and it looks like there might be a couple more spots where holes will appear soon. Not sure if I got a dud given other positive reviews, though. I don't think I've snagged the jacket anywhere, and if I did, it would have been significantly less severe than anything it would likely experience outdoors.

Nice jacket, tight fit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Haven't tried this out in the rain and will be returning because of the fit. The waist is just too tight, for reference I'm 5'11" 180 lbs with a 34 waist. The medium fits great in the sleeves, shoulders and chest but it is tight around the hips. Yes there is a 2nd zipper to zip up at the bottom to loosen it up but there I'm worried about putting too much pressure on the zipper when being active and damaging it. Other than the hips, it fit great, the hood is large to fit over a helmet but the adjustment works very well when not wearing one. The neck zips up nice and high to protect chin from the wind and all zippers are smooth and waterproof. Material felt high quality. Bummed to return it.

A+ Raincoat with B- zippers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great raincoat overall– super light and sleek. Originally got a black one but car was broken into and I lost it. So essential that I had to replace right away! So that's a big endorsement I guess. I got the bright yellow color. Solid two pockets on either side. Only thing I'd say is that I found the zippers to be a little cumbersome, which was noted in other reviews. Difficult to get the zipper seated into the mechanism, and then you have to work it back and forth. Definitely workable but just… not as great as all the other details. Otherwise, a very functional, nice raincoat.

Very Trim Fit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beautifully made jacket. Seems very durable. However, I disagree that this is a "Normal Fit". I purchased this jacket along with the Minimalist Pro jacket. These are both supposed to be normal fit. The Minimalist Pro jacket fits much more relaxed and allows for layering underneath the jacket. I ordered both in the same size and I there was no room underneath the Mitre Peak jacket with only a tee shirt on underneath. The Minimalist Pro I could easily put on a thick hoodie underneath with room to spare. Therefore, if you're on the thin side, this will probably fit well.

Super dry super lightweight

My Goretex Mitre Peak Jacket arrived just in time to withstand some really harsh rain, hail, and the biggest snowstorm to hit the Ausangate region of Peru in more than 25years. Needless to say I was quite comfortable with this Jacket and really enjoyed watching the heavy precipitation literally shedding off this Goretex jacket like “water off a ducks back.” Packs down small and doesn’t weigh much which was an added bonus for the backpacking trip around the mountains here. A must have for any serious outdoor enthusiasts who want to stay dry on their next outing.

The Mighty Mitre Peak

This jacket is my go to for fast and light approaches, summit pushes, rainy day runs, the ski resort or around town because of it's clean look. It seriously can handle any weather conditions and is super light so you hardly notice it in your pack or on your back. I love the backpack compatible zippers, but wish there was an extra internal chest pocket. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

Great Features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fits true to size. Great features. The jacket should hopefully be my go-to outerwear for winter hikes and Nordic skiing. It is thin - I mean the jacket is light, yes, but the material is thinner than I am usually comfortable with. I will put it to the test and hope for the best. It could use lower zipper snap fastener for durability, too.

Good but cut small

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Normaly, I wear a large. Lage was way too small in chest and shoulders and had upsize to XL. XL fits well there but sleeves are too long for me. Fortunately, the sleeves have good velcro adjusments and I can keep from covering hands. Like high vis color. Will use for jogging and running in the wind and rain.
