I dont own a car. I walk everywhere 5-7 miles a day. I live in central NY and i have to go up very steep hills to get to my job and walk down very steep hills to get home. I have two dogs that i walk everywhere. These boots are the warmest boots i have ever owned. The traction is top notch. Snow, no problem. Slush, no problem. Ice, eh its ice. They are pretty comfy and hold up pretty well for hours of walking in the snow. My only disappointment is that where the sole meets the foot part in the front is kinda coming apart. That is where it gets kinda wet inside. Ive had these about a month. I really do like them and not too mention they are light weight.
I recently purchased these boots, and while they are well-made and stylish, they are not very comfortable for those of us without a high foot arch. The arch support is quite pronounced, and I found it uncomfortable for extended wear. If you have flat or low arches, you may want to consider a different style or plan to replace the insoles. I’m not sure if the insoles are replaceable, but that could be a potential solution for better comfort. These boots might be a better fit for someone with naturally high arches.
I love these athletic boots! They are lightweight and not too hot or too cold. They were perfect for walking my dog, especially when we had snowy conditions. My feet stayed dry even in the slush. I upgraded to some more structured Merrill insoles for better arch and heal support and they feel great. Highly recommend for all winter dog walkers!
Boots just arrived, and they look just like what I expected. I ordered my normal size 9, and they fit but don’t really allow room for a thick sock that I’d expect to wear for cold weather use. The toe box is also very tight across, with no give. My feet are on the wider side, though not so wide that I ever have to order a wide size. These are just too narrow to be comfortable for me. They seem very lightweight and would be great for a fall or winter hike. I like the side zip for easy on and off too. Unfortunately I’ll have to return for something that fits my foot better.
Not waterproof at all! Comfortable but returned due to my feet being wet and cold
These shoes worked wonders in Iceland. For a minute I felt my feet were wet but it must have been from how warm these shoes keep you. Not the greatest on ice but it did the job in comparison to other name brand shoes. I would recommend.
Thank you for amazing comments.
I bought these boots for a trip to Iceland and I was very satisfied with them. My feet were warm and dry in the rain. I felt secure on the rocky uneven surfaces during hikes and was happy with my purchase.
Thanks for sharing your experience Jeannie!
I have worn these boots for about 60-80 miles of terrain hiking, including ascents and descents. I have had ZERO blister issues! I wear injinin sock liners and pacas socks with them, and at the end of the trail day, my feet are the only things that don't hurt. I wish the toe box was slightly bigger, but other than that, I see no improvements possible. My only long term worry, because of the smallish toe box, is that my feet will eventually swell and spread out too much to maintain this comfort level on longer hikes (my longest to day is 4 days, but Im training for the Appalachian). My regular shoe size is 7, my pair is size 7.5, and I just don't know if I need a size 8 instead. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend and will definitely buy again.
My podiatrist recommended these for my high arch and Plantar Fasciitis. Amazing boots. Like walking on a cloud. I am usually a size 8 so ordered a 8.5 for my orthotics to fit in. A little snug. I haven't tried with thicker socks yet but these boots fit to size I would say. Our winter so far where I live in Canada hasn't had snow or cold but I will come back to update my review to see how these boots do in the snow and cold. I love them. So light on the feet when walking and driving. And they look good with outfits! For those with high arches, I found they were ok to walk in without my orthotics but I inserted a little arch support pad and that helped. No plantar fasciitis pain either. Great boots. I got them on sale so good price point.
Your positive feedback made our day!
I got these to wear for my indoor/outdoor job. They look nice wearing around the casual office, but are quite warm and good traction when I have to go out. They're not so warm I can't wear them indoors too. I pretty much wear them everywhere now. I went a 1/2 size larger than normal since they don't offer them in wide and that works pretty well. I did replace the insole with something that suited me better, but I usually end up doing that with most shoes. I wear them so much I'm about to buy a second pair!
