The Gortex lining in these shoes is loose and baggy. I'm afraid that these will be a recipe for blisters and not what I expected from Zamberlan. Also, I don't have wide feet, but the fit was very snug across the toe box. Length is true to size and the Vibram outsoles appear to be the usual Vibram quality you would expect. I really wanted to love these shoes, but due to the issue with the lining, I'm returning them unworn. I will also note that I'm dubious about how long the synthetic uppers will last. Overall, they're a nice looking low hiker, but not what I've come to know as "Zamberlan quality."
Zamberlan makes awesome boots & low top hikers. Their boots are usually too heavy for me although very well made. True to size for me & I wear a 7.5 tennis shoe. The low top is my second pair as I have the yellow mid high boot that I wore on the O Circuit in Torres del Paine National Park. Almost wore them out. The price seems high to me so I wait for a sale. The tips I gave on my boots was: make the toe more round; add a little more cushion for distance like the O Circuit; add a bit more depth to the Vibrum sole. The 4 star is basically due to the high cost.
One of the best low hiking boots I have had. Walking on clouds…but very sturdy at the same time. The toe box is not very roomy, but shoe laces can be adjusted easily. I tried insoles with more arch support in these boots, but the original insoles provide the best fit.
This is a great product!. It fits well and it is very comfortable! I am using it more for road hiking, but it has held up well and it is great under all conditions. Highly recommend it for comfort. I bought a second pair for when these wear out and I am highly critical of hiking boots. I read every review and rely on REI to have accurate and appropriate reviews.
I love my big Zamberlan boots so much that when I needed a lighter hiker, I ordered these thinking they would be similar perfection. What a mistake. I took them for three days of serious hiking in the Lakes District (UK) and got terrible blisters on my heels and very sore feet. I keep thinking I just need to break them in more, but it’s been a year now, and these things are as stiff and unyielding as the day I bought them. Tables have turned; they’re breaking my feet in instead! Ouch.
