Good crampons

I’ve broken these in on a 9-day excursion in the North Cascades. They fit nicely on my G2 EVOs (size 43), but there’s still a quarter inch from the back heel studs to the heel of the boot. This is probably due to the smaller shoe size, but I’m still going to adjust the crampon down one more size and shave off the heel rubber on the boot to make it snug. I had minimal slip on the tightening straps after 8+ hr days.

Grivel Crampons

I ended up returning because they were not compatible with my mountaineering boots. I brought my boots with me to REI and this is what the guy recommended. RMI wouldn't let me use them for Rainier because of the compatibility. I ended up returning and rented black diamond ones. I liked the black diamond ones so much I bought those from REI. They ended up being cheaper as well! Make sure you have someone who knows mountaineering to help you determine which crampons are best for your boot. Im sure I would have enjoyed these if I had different boots.

Great general mountaineering crampons

Time-tested design securely fits most boots and will stand up to heavy use.
