Design flaw

Overall really enjoyed the gloves for Scottish winter climbing, warm but not too bulky and delays moisture ingress longer than other gloves. However, there is a design flaw with the stitching on these gloves where after just 1 day of use the stitching between the wrist and thumb of the glove split leaving a 1 inch split in the join of the material of the gloves. The other glove suffered the same issue within a few days. The same thing has happened to a climbing partner with the same gloves. I expect much better from RAB especially for the price of these.

Pívot gloves: They are what they say they are!

When you’re out traversing powder snowed ridges for hours at a time, plunging your hands deep for a better hold, you do not need to look any further. 8 hours of of working across ridges, down powdered slopes and more wet rocks I’d like to try and count, exhaustion crept in but no water did. My experience has been dry hands everytime, supreme warmth and extremely tough palms. These gloves really are the ultimate winter gauntlet.

Beautifully made technical glove but

Beautifully made technical glove but I found it very difficult to get my hands into the gloves when my hands were wet and cold. eg in winter when transferring from my first pair of the day. Rab recommends a thin silk liner glove to stop the sticky effect of the liner. Perhaps stitching across the internal layers to keep the inner static might help. Maybe even a thicker fleece inner across the back of the hands on the way in?

Getting the right combination of

Getting the right combination of waterproof, warmth and dexterity is difficult. These gloves hit the first two criteria well, but my hand movement was a little more restricted than I had hoped. For most activities they were fine, but for anything a bit more fiddly, like strapping my crampons on, they were a little too clunky. Overall though, a very good glove and would recommend.

Really good gloves. Bought these

Really good gloves. Bought these for a Royal Marines winter deployment to Norway - would normally use mitts but needed the tactility of a glove (using eqpt, tying knots etc). Hardly had them off - warm enough down to -10ish and seem durable enough for military work (although still relatively early days). Mediums felt a bit tight initially but turned out to be just right in use.

Spent a week in the alps and these gloves aren't actually that warm considering the bulk and price. I had to cram another set underneath to keep finger sensation. Decent grip and feel though whilst climbing. Consider mitts if it's really cold. Probably wouldn't recommend these, sorry.

A well made product but

A well made product but not as effective in keeping fingers warm as hoped.(even after quite a short period) I suspect that mittens would be a better optiom.

It’s great - I love

It’s great - I love that it is warmer than most coats and really lightweight. To make it even better would be to add more inside pockets.

These gloves are super tough and warm but also allow you to still have good feel and so far have never let any wetness in
