Great mittens down to little details
Went to Antarctica and coming from Texas wasn’t at all familiar with cold weather clothing. This ended up being one of our best overall purchases. Compared to Patagonia ones we thought would be better, this gloves had adjustable wrists so they can fit perfectly. Once we got to Antarctica, we realized they had loops to keep on your wrists when taking them off to use your phone when taking photos. The other brand didn’t which we realized was a huge inconvenience. They also remained waterproof through all the snowing and water splashing from the zodiac boats. A pair of REI gloves we bought in the similar circumstances ended up soaking through and cold. Also probably obvious, but gloves were very warm and did as expected for weather in the 20s.
Yes yes yes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Same ole same ole story folks AMAZINGLY DESIGNED,practical & user friendly NORTHFACE strikes again!!!
Exactly what I was looking for!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these mittens for skiing, and I haven't tried them on the slopes yet, but I wore them during a very windy walk along the shore of the Chesapeake Bay in 20-something degree weather. They were great! Warm, soft inside, and fitted with several handy features like cinches around the wrists and at the cuffs, as well as one I hadn't even noticed when I purchased them: there are elastic loops that go around your wrists so you can remove your gloves, when necessary and not worry about clutching them under your arm or between your knees -- they just hang from your wrists so you don't drop them! I definitely recommend these!
Highly recommended!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Men's Montana Ski Mitts exceeded my expectations on the slopes. They kept my hands warm and dry in tough conditions, thanks to great insulation and waterproofing. The adjustable wrist strap ensured a secure fit, and the reinforced palm held up well against wear and tear. While slightly bulky, their reliability makes them a top pick for winter sports.
Exactly what I wanted
I wanted mittens to keep warm on an upcoming trip. Local REI had lots of mittens to try. The North Face Montana Mittens that were there seemed to be perfect. Straps for attaching to arms so they don't fall. Clips for hooking them together. More material to cover more of the wrist and up the arms. Most others did not have all these features and where twice the price. But the M size was too small for me. So I had to order it online in L size. They just arrived...and were perfect. Glad I waited.
Great mittens for skiing
Great mittens, very warm, very dry, look nice, have a tightening strap and wrist bands, good grippy material. For sizing just do what you think, if you're between 2 sizes go for the larger size.
I recommend buying these great pair of mittens.
The are the best mittens I own. Soft inside and keep my fingers warm while working outdoors in minus 0 degree weather. You can fit hand warmers in but I haven't needed them. The color is grey is nice. I always get black mittens so this is a nice change. They have straps on each that you can put on your wrist. One less thing to misplace. These are men's mittens. I find men's mittens to be more comfortable for me. Just my preference. I plan on buying another pair or two. Once you find something you love, it may not be available next season.
Nice quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a 5'10" woman, and bought the Men's medium. The compartment for the fingers feels just right for my hand. The thumb compartment feels a bit restricted and compressive. I don't know if this is due to a irregular item that arrived, or if this is the typical fitting. I might try to size up to the Men's Large for a comparison. I bought these to wear on our cold morning walks in the Texas winter months. So when walking four miles, and my hands hung by my side, the thumb may increase in diameter just from that dependent position and therefore feel more restrictive. I can move the thumb over to the compartment of the fingers to be less restrictive on the thumb, however then these are not useful if I were to hold a flashlight, for example. The quality of the mittens is very good.
Great gear that lasts a lifetime.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best comment I can give on these mits is that I haven't needed to use them yet. I bought them in anticipation of a ski trip; I hadn't ski'd in 20 years. As I was getting my gear prepped, I found my old Northface gloves that were over 20 years old, I figured they would be trashed after being in storage for all those years. But I've been using those gloves for an week and they are still killing it. Great gear by Northface which still works well over 20 years later. This stuff is an investment.
The best value!
I purchased these for trail running. I have Reynauds in my hands really bad and nothing I had previous worked well. With this years cold winter, I can happily say I didn’t have an issue. I actually got a 2nd pair!
