Dirty Looking

The jacket itself is nice but do NOT buy the oracle/yellow color. its very light and the down shows through making the jacket look old and dirty. Very disappointed in the appearance for $400. Good jacket if in a different color.

Extremely Lightweight Utilitarian Jacket

Weight: unbelievably light and compactable. Warmth: very warm, more so if wearing something over it. Body/Torso Fit: rather tight; would like a little more room body/torso area. Shoulder/Arm Fit: very comfortable; much room to move arms, neck, and shoulders; no binding at all. Color: quite pleasant blue-black, indeed. Zipper: looks and feels a little under substantial for such a high quality jacket; reported to be less than sturdy by some reviewers; no problems here; seems to work well. Price: well...rather high.

Snug like a bug

Fits me snug. Heard people in reviews complaining about being able to see the filling, but I actually like the see-through nylon effect. I think it gives the jacket a little more character.

Tears easily - buy if you do not plan on skiing

Bought this jacket for my son a year ago. He wore it skiing twice. It has six small tears in the fabric with down oozing out and the polyester fill under the arms exposed.

Almost Perfect

I give a 5 star because despite the small issue, it’s still an exceptional Arc’teryx product, for an awesome layerable midlayer. It fits comfortably under my Alpha and Beta jackets and presents nice on it’s own. The only issue I have is that the zipper seem to be lesser quality than the rest of the products I have from Arc’Teryx. I can’t say that it is a less durable product, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the zipper failed during prolonged use. If it’s like any of my other Arc’Teryx products, I shouldn’t have to worry though, just something to consider.

Weak Zipper. Black Sapphire = Shiny Navy

Packability, comfort, and warmth are all great. I am 6'3 with an athletic/skinnier build and the Large fits perfectly. The zipper is weak - have had it come open at the base (after zipping up) multiple times. Seems to work find after I reset. Will monitor but could lead to a return if it is an issue. "Black Sapphire" is really just a shiny navy. Shame as the pure black is not available from REI (sold out across the board). Was not what I was hoping for but no better color alternatives currently.

Product is great, but

Love the down jacket. IT kept me super warm even in the freezing temperature. It is also light weight so it is great to travel with. I have a big issue of REI reward system. I don't know when they changed to this stupid system, but you will have to wait for the reward to be deposited until next year. What kind of stupid reward system is this? I wil lnot be purchasing from REI just because of this stupid system.

Warm and tailored fit but zipper issues

I loved everything about this jacket except for the zipper. I have wide shoulders and the Large fit well, but the zipper seems like it was made for a pocket rather than for full closure. I think Arc’teryx used this type of zipper for ultralight packing, but the weight savings does not seem worth giving up the usability, especially when wearing gloves.

Lightweight allrounder

I purchased this jacket around 7 years ago and put it through the ringer. I hike often and ski every season, and this jacket is phenomenal. Due to its lightweight, the material is quite fragile and will tear with tree branches etc. Just throw tape on it. I've purchased other brands however, they are not as lightweight or warm. Best one IMO.

Great fit and warm

Really happy with this. Really warm for it’s weight. Not built for the coldest day ever, but layers really well for great warmth. Also looks nice enough to dress up. I know some folks don’t like the zipper thinking it’s too delicate, but I haven’t had many issues. Not a huge fan of the branding on the back of the neck.
