Great Bibs for Active Winter Activities

I love wearing my bibs for cross country skiing. I typically wear medium and they fit true to size. The only feature I don’t love about them is that you have to step in from the side and lift the suspenders over your head instead of the suspenders having release clips. I like how they are not insulated so that I’m not pouring sweat while being active. I’ve primarily used them when weather is in the low teens or warmer. I don’t know that I’d use them for standing still in the negatives.

Disappointed

I had high expectations for these Patagonia snowboard pants, but unfortunately, they fell short in terms of durability. After only three uses, the butt area showed noticeable wear and was no longer waterproof. For a premium product from such a reputable brand, I expected much better performance. While the fit and style are great, the lack of longevity is a major letdown. I wouldn't recommend these pants for anyone looking for reliable, long-lasting snow gear.

Lightweight, Durable, Tight in the thighs

Size up if you have larger thighs. I'm 145lbs, 5'4" height. The small fit in every way except the thighs. I could get them on, but they were too restricting to move freely in (and I couldn't use any of the pockets on the legs). The quality seems good, so I will be returning and sizing up. I would recommend this product for uphill-travel, but not a super cold resort day.

My first ski bibs. LOVE em!

Comfortable, and I was able to move well. Looking at other reviews, I ordered the Medium. I'm 5' 3.5", 125lbs, and have relatively thick thighs. I usually get small pants, but I didn't want them to be too tight in the legs. I can't say that these are the most figure-flattering bibs out there, but they aren't bad. And they are sooo easy to ski in all day! The long side zip for bathroom breaks works well, which I was thrilled about. Love the eco-friendly waterproofing from Patagonia--that was a selling point for me above other brands. Love the color, love the functionality. They are pretty lightweight, which means I can layer appropriately for all winter conditions. The gray color looks sharp with my teal Burton coat. Overall really happy!

EXTREMELY long legs, odd proportions

I really wanted to love this, and I did for about 30 seconds: the color (plum) is beautiful, it's extremely lightweight, and the interior fabric is soft to the touch and just very comfy. Could this be the one? Alas, it was not. I'm 5'1ft and the legs on the small size are *extremely* long. It went almost all the way down to the floor over my ski boots, and I'd be legitimately worried it might get in the way of clipping on to my bindings. Ironically, the torso is relatively short compared to the legs; I can't picture anyone with legs this long having such a short torso. As reported by others, it's a tad tight on the thighs (it wasn't an issue for me, but I can see why it could have been for anyone more curvy). It was also quite tight on the chest - would be fine with thin baselayers, but definitely not if wearing anything bulkier. Love Patagonia but I really wonder if they measure a real human being while designing this one.

Great fit for this mom!

As a postpartum mom getting ready for ski season, I needed to find snow pants that fit my wider hips, midsection and chest. As a last attempt, I decided to try bibs, and these fit large enough in the chest, hips and stomach without being too long, too baggy or too tight elsewhere! I'm 5'6, currently 150lbs and the medium regular fits great. I like that the suspenders are elastic and lift over the head instead of having clips, and I like that they are lightweight and not heavily insulated to keep me warm but not sweating while doing winter activities. Four stars instead of five because they are a tiny bit tight in the inseam and the vents are on the outside of the thighs instead of the inside of the thighs.

fit not as expected

These were nicely made bibs, however I was disappointed in the fit. I usually wear a medium and was sad to see they were pretty baggy up top and snug in the butt and thighs. I am 5'4" curvy/athletic and was sad to find I would not be able to layer fleece leggings comfortably underneath for colder days. Sad to return these since previous Patagonia bottoms have worked well for me, but may work well for someone with more narrow hips.

Comfortable, loose fitting

Posting here for a sizing reference. I am a curvy 12 and purchased an XL (sized up) but it was too big and will return. Patagonia sizing can be all over the place especially if you have hips! But these run true to size.

What happened to the legs?

I was really excited to find a pair of bibs in a cor besides black that were xl short and they are VERY roomy except in the thighs,. I have curves but even if ok was built straight to fit these that wouldn't have worked either. It's almost like they made them in a reverse triangle shape vs curvy. Very disappointed

Comfy and cute

I really like these bibs. I am 5’3 with long legs, so the fit is great for me. They’re not my warmest bibs, but they’re comfy and so far I’ve had no issues!
