Always a great pant if you like a little warmth!
I've owned a few pairs of these pants over the years. They hold up so well, the warmth is perfect for chilly mornings and just open the zips when it warms up. After so many years of skiing I've decided I like insulated pants and rock them with my backcountry shell jackets. Jusge me all you want! I've skied closing weekend in them with just leggings under and been totally fine, never too hot. Patagonia honestly just makes a really quality product. For sizing help, since I struggle at times, I have an XS at 5'6" and 120-125 lbs. When I was in the 170 lb range, the medium were great!
CHARCOAL! Not Black
The color of these pants is incorrectly marketed. They are charcoal, not black. If you're going to wear them with a black jacket, it's a hard No. Otherwise, the pants are beautifully constructed and have lots of technical features for skiers. They are mid-rise pants not made for curvy or pear-shaped girls. Compared to most ski pants, these have pretty heavy insulation so if you're particularly cold-blooded you'll love them but otherwise, you'll cook on a warm day or if you ski hard.
