Sizing is just a bit off, neck too tight
Fabric weight feels pretty good. Sizing is slightly larger than some others we tried on (a little longer and looser) than what I'd expect for a thermal base layer. The biggest gripe is the neck - on two kids (different sizes) the neck was an extremely tight fit getting over the head. In fact, one almost didn't without a good yank! Uncomfortably tight. We also tried the lightweight base layers, and those fit much better.
Neck too tight with no give
My son could not even get this to go over his head. We have never had this issue with REI base layers in the past. The neck is way too tight, with no give. The rest of it is “normal” sizing. We will be returning the two we bought. Matching pants fit great.
Neck doesn't fit over child's head
Bought this early to make sure I had it for the kids when they needed it. Unfortunately, to late to return it. When I tried it on them, it would not go over their heads. This is the first size that we've had this problem with. We've loved prior versions.
Worked out great for us!
Bought this for my daughter in her usual size and fit perfectly. Like others have mentioned it was a little tight getting it over her head but once on, there were no issues. We also bought the matching bottoms. Just had a snow day. She ran around outside in 30 degree weather- never once complained of being cold or hot. She loves the thumb holes and says they are super comfy. So I’m back here now ordering a second pair!
Tight neck - returning
The fabric doesn’t have enough give to make it over my kid’s head. Not even close.
Too small of a head opening, fine in a pinch.
This base layer item ran very small in the head opening, and it was necessary to buy the size larger - which was ultimately too roomy in the body to fit nicely underneath anything but the most generously sized layers.
Long Underwear Top
I bought one for each of my young grandchildren about to take their first international trip. These were a big hit for comfort, warmth, easy wash/dry, and the "littles" loved the thumb pockets! Great product!

love this base layer!
I’m a So Cal girl who loves the snow. I have used the tops and bottoms as a base layer and they keep me warm. I most recently used the top and bottoms at the Rose parade in low 40’s layers with a long sleeve shirt and a down vest. I was warm and comfortable unlike many of my friends. They have lasted for 2 years of frequent wear with more years of wear ahead. A very good value.

my gramma bought this for me to sleep in for rest time...i think it's warm although i'm too busy playing with legos and dressing up like michael franti to really care about that...
