These "can" work as rock climbing pants. They're surprisingly flexible, the ripstop cotton fabric appears solid, they're slim but not restricting, really comfortable and they look good (5'9", 160lbs, got 32x32). But, for active wear, I'd say the material is a little heavier compared to others. That said, these are excellent for day hikes, camping, work, or just around. And, if something challenging comes up, these pants are capable of tackling it. Main 4 pockets are pretty traditional, but done really well. The 5th slip pocket on right is perfect for a smart phone, and holds in place (no sloshing around). Lastly, there's no water resistance or quick drying properties, if it's wet, it's gonna be wet.
Very comfortable pants. I love the functionality too, the zipper pocket on the left can hold my iphone 16 pro max. There is an open small pocket on the right side which is perfect for quick access. I use them to commute by bicycle to the office and they are comfortable. I have them in green and caki colors.
Durable and stretchy, thickness has not been an issue with me.
Great pants for both climbing and casual wear. They’re comfy and durable. Great purchase.
The matertial, stretch, and cut are awesome and tough enough for knee bars all day. But, as much as I want to love these pants, the inseam is too short and waist too big. The fit on my thighs is great, but at 6'1" and 180 I got the 32 waist and my butt hangs out when hang dogging and pant legs are too short.
I’ve been wearing BD pants for years overseas and just grabbed a few new pairs of these pants. I’m between a 34/36, and the 34 fits perfect as it gets more comfortable the longer you wear it. Super nice style and works for the field or a night out!
I’m a climbing guide, and school administrator that teaches climbing. You are not going to see me in a suit and tie. BD Rocklock pants are good enough for me to wear at school, then harness right up to climb with students without having to change.
Much more durable than other climbing pants i have used in the past. Really comfortable fit and the side zip pocket is a must have on multi pitch climbs and long days out.
I'm not worried about limestone ripping through the pants and I can still highstep through a crux. Quality product.
Durable Pants, Stretchy enough, and they seemed to dry out quick enough after getting stuck in a rainstorm.
