Fell apart
Had high hopes for this bag, but after 3 years and less than a dozen uses, it's falling apart. Stabilizing rod busted out of its sleeve, bottom lost integrity, corners fraying and fabric pilling. Only good thing I can say is that the wheels roll nice and quiet. I'm outside the warranty window, but I emailed them about it and can confirm it's completely useless. Doesn't cover baggage mishandling or excessive wear.
Do not buy - you’re bike will be ruined
Do not buy this! I have a size large Santa Cruz tall boy carbon frame. This bag DID NOT do it’s job. The bag gave no indication of how to install the tire (disc or cassette first) so we did the cassette inward. The cassette chewed through the “protective” liner in the wheel sleeve and ATE A HOLE IN MY CARBON REAR TRIANGLE. Evoc was unapologetic about it. Terrible company, and a terrible bag that can’t do it’s one job: protect a bike in flight. DON’T BUY!
Good quality bike bag
My wife and I each have one of these bags and have used them a few times. I have a size medium 29er and she has a size small 27.5, both full suspension. Both bikes fit our bags just fine, the 29er wheels with 2.3 inch trail tires are snug getting into the wheel pockets, but they fit. In addition to removing handle bars and pedals, we took the extra five minutes to remove disc rotors and rear derailleurs/chains. We put the rotors in cardboard sleeves and wrapped the derailleurs in small towels and tied them to the frame. There are few pockets inside to store everything that comes off the bike. We take full size tools to assemble/disassemble the bikes, we put those in our hip packs and put the hip packs behind plastic block under the rear of the frame. We also shove pads and other smaller softer items in there. The quality wheels and the variety of handles make it easy to pull around and load into cars. We haven't had any damage to our bikes or any components.
Burly, but surprisingly nimble bike bag
I bought one of these Evoc bike bags three years ago to transport a Salsa Horsethief 29 to Australia for a bike race. I consulted with several online videos for best packing advice for the bike (i.e. using bubble wrap and work rags for padding. WillSki's review highlights an important thing I did not do: remove disc brake rotors. My rear rotor got bent in transport and needed to be replaced. Otherwise a great bag that served its role well. Despite being big and bulky, the roller wheels and carry loops made for easy transport through four airports and onto the bus to my final destination. One thing to keep in mind for transporting a bike--especially a heavy mountain bike. The carrier and bike may incur extra weight charges on some airlines. Some folks recommended packing in helmet, shoes and other things into the empty space in the bag. However, even stripping those out resulted in overweight charges.
Large bag, larger than needed for my tri-bike.
Bag is excellent for transport.
