Great upgrades over EVOC's standard bike bag.
We travel on airlines with our road bikes 4 to 6 times a year. Our previous standard EVOC bike bags lasted over seven years until somewhere between Charlotte and Tucson, baggage handling found a way to destroy one of two bags. Thanks to REI for excellent customer service in getting an EVOC Bike Bag Pro to us during our trip, with no practical way to otherwise get one of the bikes home, they saved our trip! I feel the EVOC Bike Bag Pro has upgrades and features that justify the higher cost over the standard EVOC Bike Bag. The Pro is significantly lighter but is reinforced and much more sturdy in areas that were showing a lot of wear and tear on the standard bag. My 61mm (XL) road bike, helmet, pump, and shoes fit in the Pro with room to spare and do not exceed airline weight limits. (AA, Delta, and UA). One note on traveling with all EVOC bike bags: Make sure you are booked on standard mainline aircraft! These bags will NOT fit through cargo doors on CRJ or ERJ aircraft! Overall, I am very happy with this new bag!
