Comfortable but take a long time to dry
These gloves are quite comfortable, and the loops make for easy getting them off. My few areas for improvement are 1) I got them wet, and even after squeezing them out and hanging them to dry, they still were not 100% dry after 24 hours. 2) The snap to close them at the wrist is on the inside of the wrist, which makes the fit hard to get right. 3) the padding on the palm is cushiony but thick, and the fit on the small was still very roomy. This did not make for a good grip on my kayak paddle. I will use them if my hands are very cold but I will not be relying on them to improve my kayaking control and experience.
Very comfortable but bled dye continuously
I was really excited for a new pair of paddling gloves, and while out for 90 minutes with a SUP, these were awesome! I did get them a little wet (not submerged), plus my hands were perspiring. Got back to shore only to find that my hands were black where they contacted the synthetic suede. Thought it might just be an initial break-in effect, so I took them home and gently hand washed them. The sink turned black, and even after drying the gloves overnight, they continued to bleed dye when I ran water over them. Soaked them overnight and dried them again, and still they bled. Maybe I had a pair from a bad batch, but these when straight back to REI for a refund.
Good quality and price
Just what I was looking for, fingerless gloves to run trails in. The sizing seems accurate, I ordered XL expecting a loose fit and it was. The velcro strap is handy and so is the soft spot to wipe your nose, to quote the product description. I am ordering a second pair so I don’t have to be so quick about washing them.
Decent
These did a decent job keeping my hands from rubbing raw on a 10 hour paddle but there’s one flaw. They have a large seem that runs right in the crease between my thumb and pointer finger that was pretty uncomfortable.
Comfy Gloves
Good value, comfy gloves. Finger tabs are great for removing after bike ride. :)
