Features

  • At 30 in. wide, this wide version is 5 in. wider than the standard Sleep System sleeping pad
  • 2-layer foam construction is made from the same high-performance polyfoams found in home mattresses atop a durable, waterproof drop-stitch inflatable base
  • Top layer is an engineered open-cell foam that conforms to your body and relieves pressure; bottom layer is a highly resilient foam that provides support and body alignment
  • Drop-stitch inflatable base features thousands of strain-locked polyester threads that allow it to reach high internal pressures, creating a durable, rigid platform
  • When deflated, the drop-stitch base helps compress the foam as you roll it up for transport
  • Mattress cover is made of moisture-wicking stretch nylon twill on top with polyurethane-coated nylon on the bottom
  • Cover is easy to remove and is machine washable
  • Conveniently located pocket at the top of the mattress is the perfect location for your phone and other small stashables
  • Engineered for consistent performance at different ambient temperatures, mattress combines temperature-regulating air flow through upper foam with excellent ground insulation
  • At 7 in. thick, this sleep system has an R-value of 11.8
  • Includes the wide HEST Sleep System, a drop-stitch patch kit, HEST pump and a carry bag
  • Carry bag makes transporting the sleep system to and from your campsite easy; bag is made of water- and dirt-resistant polyurethane-coated nylon and has a pump storage sleeve
  • Mattress rolls and then secures with integrated compression straps to fit in the carry bag

Not same cushion quality as the original Hest
I own the original sleep system that hest debuted and it is amazing. This was motivation to purchase a second one when the wide size was available. Although I loved the comfort of the original, my shoulders/arms would tend to drop off the sides. The wide is perfect in regards to size. If you have wider shoulders or like a little more room it is a great choice. I wanted to note the cushion material is not the same as the original version. I took off the mattress cover off of both to inspect. The memory foam and secondary foam are both alike in height and shape. The white memory foam; however, is not as dense. The result is you feel less supported and you “sink in” quicker. I weigh 160 for reference, and if you were to focus your weight on one knee on the mattress, you will “bottom out” to the pad whereas the original version the foam is dense enough that this will not occur. In my opinion, I think the quality of the foam was better in earlier versions. I felt it valuable to inform others interested in this sleep system as it is not inexpensive. Overall it is an amazing bed and I am happy with both due to their unique attributes.

Wanted to love
I wanted to love this. Was at a stage where I didn't want to camp any longer just using air mattress that gets cold at night and deflates. Enter the Hest Sleep System. Memory foam and insulated air system. What I liked: Super comfortable. As comfortable as a firm memory foam bed. Additional air mattress. Difficult to get just right though as you have to be super quick to replace valve or lose most of the air. Awesome carry case and easy to use pump. Lightweight for it's size. What I hated and why I am returning it: Cheap compression buckle!!! Unfurled it on living room floor to air out (has your typical off gases) and partially stepped on compression buckle as it it attached to the bed itself-with bare feet no less. Cracked!! Buckle is so flimsy you can compress the plastic with your fingers....for the price this is a serious design flaw. Buckle system now doesn't lock under any sort of pressure. For a few bucks more replace this with same quality buckle you find on most backpacks and it will be nearly perfect for your glamping adventures. If this system is going to be adequate for any camping/glamping adventure, designers must change this because who doesn't step on things in close quarters? Super bummed but for the money I will get the Expad or Nemo and will save nearly $100 in the process.

I finally woke up well-rested in the outdoors

I've been sleeping outdoors for decades - sometimes in tents, sometimes in truck beds and sometimes just laying on the ground under the stars. All of the experiences have been amazing, but I have never really had what I would describe as a "comfortable" nights sleep in the outdoors. That changed last week after winter truck bed camping with my new HEST sleeping system. The opportunity to wake up for a big day of backcountry skiing without being stiff, sore or fatigued from a night of tossing and turning is more than worth the price of the system. If your goal is to enjoy the adventure of the day - it is worth the investment to get a great night of sleep when outdoors.

My Dream Pad!

I'm so stoked! I've had a Hest Sleep system for about a year now and it's been wonderful...But, I have broad shoulders and I was wishing for a wider version for an even better nights sleep. All my hoping has paid off and now I think I've found the perfect mattress. This 30" wide version is perfect for me. Really happy that they are listening to their customers. Highly Recommended.

Best camping pad for my back

Love this sleeping mattress. I have a horrible back and have been looking for a supportive camping mattress that helps me sleep with my back issues. With the additional dropstitch base this mattress give me enough support for me to enjoy sleeping on the ground again. Highly recommend to anyone with back pain.

Next level car camping comfort

I sleep in my Subaru a lot and my previous foam pad was so soft and didn’t have much support…. I upgraded to the hest and was blown away by the comfort! I always look forward to using to next :)

Amazing upgrade!!

I have always had a 20 - 25" sleeping mattress and my elbows would rest on the ground when I was sleeping on my back. NO MORE!! This 30" wide model is extremely comfortable (maybe more than my actual bed) and it doesn't matter if I am on my back or my side, I don't fall off the edges! Thank you HEST!!

Soft and Bulky

This is a VERY large sleep pad. Purchased for my wife, but it was too soft for her liking. I thought it was comfortable, but wasn’t going to keep it for myself.

My son loves sleeping on this camping pad

I was excited to see this wider version of the Sleep System become available. My wife uses the original Sleep System and now we have this wide version for the family. My son is obsessed with it and has claimed it for himself. The foam top is the most comfortable experience sleeping. Easy to set up. Best for family car camping.

I can sleep anywhere!

I have bought directly from Hest and through REI and the quality is always the same. I have used this sleep system for camping and as an actual mattress for guests when they come over - no matter if I'm in a tent, in the car, or just at home, we always sleep through the night on it. This thing is incredible, even my dog cuddles up on it with me. Most definitely think everyone should get themselves one!
