Great for hiking but also every day wear!
I totally love these shorts. I didn't really "need" another pair of shorts and honestly wasn't expecting much but I have totally fallen in love with them. I love how the material feels. It's moisture wicking and sheds water well but is hefty enough to feel substantial and holds its shape well. Some other moisture wicking clothes are also very thin and flimsy but these shorts are not. They look great but are also beefy enough to hold up for hiking. Sizing is pretty generous. I'm about 123-125 lbs, 5'-2" and the size 4 fits great for me. I like a looser fit so if you like a more snug fit, you might want to size down.
Love the shorter length
These shorts were comfy with stretchiness in the right places, and felt durable scrambling around on rocks. Took them for a Labor Day backpacking trip, and they held up very well. I had been looking for some shorter length hiking shorts, and these are perfect. Also love the deep front pockets!
Runs very big, but stylish
I have about 12 pairs of Prana Halle pants and capris, all size 4. These fit HUGE compared to those. Put them on at the store and they fell off me. I got size 2 and still felt like I had room but they look good. Good for hiking or causal about town style. Recommend size down - see pic! Reference 5'8" 135lbs about waist 27" hips 39"
Very comfortable trail pant
Prana has done it again. For some reason I feel like this company was made for my lower half. I have the Halle pants and their size 2 fits me wonderfully. The Halle shorts in size 2 are a little larger in the legs which is ok, but I would have rather had the leg width be the same as the size 0. It didn’t deter me from buying, in fact I think this will end up being a positive for me especially with living in TX with hot summers. I’m used to wearing shorts fitted so it was a little different. The 5 inch inseam was perfect for me, not too long, and not too short, just perfect. I hate long shorts so the 7 inch would not be for me. I’m saying that this pant runs “large” because of the leg width, however the seat is perfect. I’m 5’7, 125, lean-athletic for reference.
Very comfy and easy to move in
These shorts are possibly some of the most comfortable shorts I own to hike in. The fabric is soft and airy, and they have a nice amount of stretch. They fit nicely and there was no gap at the waistband like with some other shorts/pants. The fabric kept me cool and sweat wicked away easily. One downside is I have larger quads and the legs of the shorts would roll up on me a bit. Also after a couple washes the pocket flap corners started folding up and sticking out instead of laying flat. Overall, these are fantastic shorts and I will be buying more.
My new favorite pair of shorts!
Bought these shorts and wore them on a hiking trip this last weekend. At first I was afraid they would be too short, but they were perfect. I'm a curvier girl with thighs that touch, so I am always a bit skeptical of shorts. I was beyond thrilled to find a pair of shorts that fit this well. Also love the material. Will definitely be buying myself another pair in a different color.
mixed feelings
Pill problem. I’ve have 2 pairs of Halle pants for abt 3 years and they have never pilled. Wore these on the first day around town and have a booty full of little unattractive fabric balls. Pretty disappointing bc these shorts aren’t inexpensive. I’ve bought $5 shorts on Amazon w/ better fabric quality. I feel like they run a little big, and then stretch out so size down one size if ordering. They’re super flattering (when you first put them on) and really comfortable to wear. I don’t see an anti theft sensor on them but whenever I wear them out and about, anti theft alarms go off at other stores when I’m running errands. So odd. Have had them for a week. I’m considering returning them.
Great fit!
Love the fit of Prana bottoms! I have a rectangular body shape and sometimes, certain brands cut into my waist and are looser around the hips. I don't have this problem with Prana. The 5" length is great too which I'll be wearing for golf and everyday wear.
Flattering Hiking Shorts!
I wore these hiking in Greece, and I love them so much I bought another color. Super flattering on the derrière, which is impossible to find in a hiking short. Great length to provides comfort without looking dowdy Material is sturdy without being heavy. Green and black camouflage colors are subtle. Only functional hiking shorts I've ever found that are also cute and flattering enough to wear in the city!
Excellent all-around shorts
Very comfortable and durable material, breathed very well in high humidity, comfortable length, not too short -- were versatile for hiking and for lounging around. Fit was exactly per their sizing guide (I got size 8, I'm 5'4", 29" waist and 39" hip).
