No regrets about these, they’re awesome

These have quickly become my go-to shorts for fun days out, hiking and adventuring, etc. They’re comfy and cute, sturdy, you can get them wet if you need and they’ll still look and feel fine. Comfy enough for road trips. Long enough that they feel athletic and I don’t worry about my butt hanging out. Never have to worry about them riding up. Love them.

Cozy, practical, but not breathable

I love these shorts but they don’t tolerate humidity well, so you just need to choose their application accordingly. The fabric is unique and has definitely grown on me — stretchy, a little stiff to start, and kind of sporty-meets-casual in texture (might be a little tricky if you’re trying to dress them up). The pockets are great, the waistband is cozy, and they fit true to size (I’m pear shaped, with a tiny bit extra in the waist, 5’8” and 140#, size 8). I got them for casual activities like hanging out with the kiddo or just being out & about, but I’ve been disappointed that they are not as versatile as I had hoped. I only gave them 4 stars because UGH they do not breathe well. On hot/humid days or if I break into a jog inadvertently (boy mom!), things get pretty uncomfortably warm in the crotch. Kind of like wearing jean Bermuda shorts on a hot, humid day. I would not recommend hiking or exercising in these. The cacao definitely has a hint of purple, which I didn’t like at first, but now I wonder if brown would look too frumpy. I really like that the fabric is recycled, but wish it was more breathable.

Almost good

I was really excited when I put them on for the first time. Super comfortable, waistband was great, length was great, style was great. And then I moved in them, and the moment I bent my legs I knew they were going back. I realised the front of the shorts was REALLY roomy, and if I crouched or raised my leg the front of the leg opening dragged on my thigh tightly, but the belly pouched way out. So unfortunately they’re just very strangely cut, made to accommodate bending and movement in all the wrong places! If you’re standing upright all of the time and not walking, crouching or climbing, then get them. You’ll love them. But if you intend to move in them while wearing them, choose differently. I returned them.

Not for me

These are not good. MAJOR cameltoe. Do not recommend at all, although they are well constructed.

Comfy, well-fitting, and practical!! Oh and super cute!!

These are more awesome than expected for e-waisted shorts!! Nice wide COMFY waistband, doesn’t roll at ALL. LOVE the stretch in all directions! Don’t bind. Don’t ride up, and no gobbling of the shorts by my thighs. I’ve gardened and exercised in these, run errands, and hiked. I love them!! They’re a color I don’t usually choose but they’ve ended up a neutral that seems to go with so much in my closet. I am glad I got these in the camo green, too!! Now please make them in a longer leg!! They’d be great!! And MORE colors!! Please!!

too masculine/maternity wear or something but comfy

I bought these to create a more comfortable and professional all day long work uniform as I am a fitness professional. But as I feared from some of the photos, the fit is a bit wonky. Masculine or maternity or something. Just not that flattering for my basic look. Just not quite right. The comfort is extreme. I guess I'll keep them as a rugged pair and comfortable of work shorts. And maybe I can find a top that pairs well. They would not go with a very feminine top, but therein lies the rub. I don't want to look like a boy.

Baggy crotch

I am 5'6", 185lbs, athletic build with a short torso and long legs. These shorts just don't sit on my frame well. I feel the problem is mainly in the crotch. I tried folding the waist band and the pant leg to get a better fit but I couldn't get rid of the giant fabric pooch around the zipper. The bunched up waist band style was too irritating with the fabric choice, very thick. Two stars due to poor sizing, overall style and fabric selection.

Super Comfy and Great Fitting

I love love love the fit and comfort of these shorts as well as the jogger. Size 4 is consistent for me in Prana and these are true to size. The only down side is the fabric while stretchy and comfortable easily pills and is not the durable quality of my other Prana pants. I recommend turning them inside out when washing to prevent snags and pilling. Still happy with my purchase because they look great.

Runs a little small, wish they had longer inseam…

In the Halle shorts I’m between a 10 and a 12 (10’s are a little tight, 12’s a little baggy), bought a 12 in these and it fits just right. Love the Henna-ish color and the E-waist (though I wish it were more like the waist on the Kanab or Koen shorts). I got the 5 inch length (the longest option), but I really wish it were a 7 inch instead. Overall, I think they’ll be a good pair of shorts.

New go to hiking shorts!

I have had the Halle pants for close to a decade and finally decided to try the shorts. I love an elastic waist for activities, so these seemed perfect. The material is quick-dry and I love that they have 4 pockets. I do wish there was a 4'' inseam though. The 5's are too long on me but the 3's don't have deep enough pockets (like my phone will definitely fall out of the front pocket).
